So yeah I've started the buying for my forged engine. So far I've saved a dookie load by shopping arround doing research on which parts go with which. My biggest decision is A) to send off the parts to get built off island and pay for core charge (which I will get back) B) Have it built on island and have it down for a while and tuned but no core charge.
So far my grand totoal of parts is $2155 but I still need the maching work and labor. This should get me to 600-650 ish.
So here we go:
96 mm Weisco pistons
Eagle "H" beam con rods shot peened & cryoed
Ferrea +1mm stainless Comp plus valves (keep getting the name wrong)
Ferrea valve springs
Ferrea Ti-retainers
Ferrea valve locators
Ferrea valve locks
Ferrea bronze valve guides
Ferrea valve stem seals
$2155 so far for parts at sponsored sites part for part is $3409
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still need to buy
Cometic head gaskets
L19 head bolts
ARP rod & main bolts
Looking at a 5 angle valve job, port/polish intake and exhaust runners, bowl work unshrouding the valves on the head and a bore bore on the block .20 over.
Then getting the rear cylinder cooling mod parts, and the head mod parts that overzealous did. Of course new clutch, like a 6 puck racing. While I'm at it might as well ceramic coat the exhaust manifold and exhaust side on the turbo.
If I get a decent price on work done on island it will get done soomer than later. If I dont I gotta save extra for the core charge.
So yeah I guess you could kinda call this ballz deep part 3.
After this its just brakes, half shafts, 3" exhaust & tests, and maybe Adjustable LSD. Wow, my mod list is finaly getting larger than my parts wish list!

Working on everything. I'll let you know.
As for the head work, its kind of rediculous I think. We had Portflow port the heads, changed valves, springs and retainers. I think the total cost came out to like almost 4gs in parts and labor from them. I'm thinking it might not be worth it. I'm just gonna change my valve springs. It gets expensive with the valves because so many and because they gotta cut the top of the valve to make the valve clearance with the cams so im sure they like that. The disadvantage of cam on bucket. Although cam on bucket is still badass, just hard to set clearance.

Ferrea valves have no clearence issues that I've seen or researched. Since I hav all the expensive parts already I'm ahead of the power curve.
For the springs which were you shooting for? Since I changed to Ferrea I have a hole set of 24 JWT Valve Springs and shims cheap if your looking to go that route.

Hey Seth 2 things:
1) you gave all the bumper brace bolts back right? Just wondering because I'm getting info from this guy on the cuts. When I get back I'll try and make up a template so you guys can offer it for anyy other TT owner if you like.
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....74#post2561574
2) yeah that was one hell of a price quote. Did they use soap first or atleast spit on it.
For the Ferrea valves I got the entire valve train for just under 1K. Import Parts Pro quoted me at $1750 for stage 4 head work and I provide the all the valve train and cams. For refrence: http://www.importpartspro.com/stage4heads.html . These is the heads I'm getting built up and providing every thing but the machining. After every thing is said and done, $2750 is for the JWT stage 4 heads (JWT Instead of Tomei). Better flow, more efficient delivery, more efficient power delivery. Pretty damn affordable in my eyes, in comparison to those guys quote.
Thats as little as most get there valve train for, remeber though my cams came with my order almost a year ago, so they were ate up in the initial price reduction (essentialy free). I hole heartedly agree on the save on parts to buy more parts.

Well these are paid for and on the way. So in a week or so all these are comming in:
Ferrea +1mm stainless Comp plus valves (keep getting the name wrong)
Ferrea valve springs
Ferrea Ti-retainers
Ferrea valve locators
Ferrea valve locks
Ferrea bronze valve guides
Ferrea valve stem seals
Working out something on the rods and pistons looking at knocking off at least $350 or so on those. So yeah hopefuly it will be comming together quick.

Gotta wait for a few bills to clear, but right now it looks like I will have all the parts purchased for the engine between the 20th and the 1st.
So every thing will be ready for me to ship out to the builders this fall. Which means I should have my built motor in by this winter time frame and maybe by the 2 year mark of this build conception. HOLY CRAP 2 YEARS!!
Wow time has realy flown by.

GOD DAMN FUKEN PEICE OF CRAP......... EERRR 4th time I've typed this due to fukin these fukin bored stupid hacker kids here its pissin me off.
SUMERIZED SO DONT TAKE OFFENCE
DK thanks but got a bumper lined up. I'll look into your lead though
GZ this island suck d!ck for machining prices get machined off island, cheaper even with shipping. Have Sonic build the motor if your looking for just a motor build(correct me if Im wrong Seth). They got a g35 PE TT car sponsored they are doing the work on. Every thing its pretty sweet. The other one had more soapbox preaching about sonics but bottom line Sonics = Great reliable work, Hypersport = usless highschool drama dont know there @$$ from a hole in the ground, VAKAMAN = usless overpriced ricer ****.
This was 5 paragraphs crushed into a few lines be happy the hackers kept my computer from loading it up you'd still be reading for the next 10 minutes.

Now that I got that out safely....
my front runners for my set up are
http://www.importpartspro.com/stage4heads.html
Were it says Tomie put JWT S1 and thats my heads, buttom end built. All major parts I provided: Weisco 96mm, Eagle H beam ESP rods, all the fore mentioned Ferrea parts.
$3500 core charge
or
http://www.builtzmotors.com/
With above items excet these come fully timed and front and rear timing cases are on. So you just pull a few sensors and put them on the other motor and slap her back in. These are alittle more expensive but saves an @$$ load on install time which more than makes up for the diffrence in price.
$2500 core charge
Leaning towards the built Z motors setup just for the end cost savings.
I will throw in the SVRtech head mod and rear cylinder cooling mod then. All parties have said this set up is way more than cappable of 650WHP with that head work I shoud make it with the lower range of boost too. 14-16psi
EDIT: Missed typed some numbers, would have made me a damn liar
Now its closer to whishful

OK, here we stand....
Just finished hammering out a deal with built z motors, lets just say they were extremely kind to me. GREAT HOOK UP!!!
I will not specify the details because I feal it may be rude to there company to go spouting off in a public forum deals that they cant pull off on every car. So if you would like to pm me and are interested go for it.
Lets just put it this way.... if this Long Block (including timed with front and rear t-case), head work, valve train, and cams, were priced at reatail with the head work it would be a little over 10g by my retail calculator. Again that would be if some one purchsed all the parts and items off the shelf and had a shop do all the machining, building and timing.
My big saving item was not going over kill with the pistons, that allowed me to ad in an **** load of head work that I couldnt afford other wise and this will take alot of stress off the engine helping it produce more power with less effort. Nothig else is under kill though: L19 head studs, ARP rod & main bolts, Cometic multilayer head gasket, Rev up oil pump, all the head work. I'm also gonna send the Overzealous head mod I keep talking about. I am super stoked here. cant wait to get home I'm twitching like a fiend.
I think I'm gonna tune to 500ish first, that will give me time to get use to the power. Get the 3" exhaust, half shafts, and upgraded clutch in the mean time. Bamb we be in biness fo about sis fiddy hose powa.
So soon to be selling my Injen true dual SES with tests and extra O2 bung, about $500. And a used JWT clutch make an offer.

On the 4K for the heads, what cams, valves, valve springs, etc. was that quote for?
