Default Feeler: 3.917 Gears

Well I have 3.917 Evo gears installed. Paid 850 for them plus 200 in labor. I have 10K miles on them and it has Royal Purple 75w-90 gear oil in the Pumpkin. Since I will have 500WHP here soon I think I may swap back to either 3.53's or the auto 3.2 something. So this thread is dedicated to opinions and possible offers on a direct Pumpkin swap.

I might be interested in this, let me know how much you think is reasonable. And how much difference did it make?

Ahh so you are shooting for 500whp. Man thats gonna be one HUGE turbo slung off the drivers side. Wise move going back down. Not sure if you wanna go all the way down to the 3.2's. You will have a higher top end but your acceleration will suck. Well realitively speaking.

It will allow you to launch at higher RPMs with out spinning your tires as much, allowing you to be closer to the meaty part of the power band. My cure for the traction woes are just wider tires and adjusting the suspention stiffness and dampning along with finaly playing with the adjustable sway bars to get her right. Right now she's rock solid and doesnt plant it verry well, or last I remebered from driving it 6 months ago .

What suspention setup do you have now?

Definately any one who is looking to stay NA needs to look at this. Its a cheap way for more acceleration. A direct swap is WAY easier too than the whole dissasembly route.

No springs or shocks yet. Those will go in when the car gets back to the mainland (easier to ship and we wont be racing much here )

500WHP at the most is all I may see out of the Turbonetics Turbo right now. Stage 2 will hopefully provide more, but that probably won't be out till January.

After this car will probably be looking for a roll cage and paint werkz. I am debating on getting new rims but after the abuse my car has taken on the road I may hold off on that for now too yea the Poly spray idea didn't work and I can't get them powder coated so to the trash they will go soon

So yea we'll see what happens. I get my Ford Explorer 2 morrow so miles on the Z will be kept really low.

The Diff on the gears is crazy, I love them. Off boost pulls hard. Better spent money than a I/H/E IMO

Alright bro, let me know, I'll take em off your hands.

Perhaps we can set it up for sonic to do it, while I wait on a flywheel, so I can do the gears, clutch and flywheel all at the same time.
Not sure on the STK right now, I'm most likely waiting till Oct-Nov '07 when I get back from deployment to do the install. So in the meantime, I can do some less intense stuff to go a little faster :P
