So in my quest to solve the noise from the passenger side brake assembly I decided to get new pads and get the rotor turned.......well......lol....uh...yea the damn rotor was so rusted I wasted 3 hours trying to remove it so finally I went and bought a gear puller and ripped that joker out. Yes I did loosen the emergency brake gear to remove the tension it was just so damn rusted from being alive since early 2003
BTW to get rotors turned is 13.00 at checkers and I may upgrade later to a big brake hit not for now tho. I can't find a good pads anywhere so I just may end up getting a 50.00 ceramic set temporarily.

Damn got the brakes changed but the spring like squeak sound is still there. It changes while speeding up or down so crap IDK what it could be now. Need a second opinion.
lol, it's kinda like a duck "Quack" but more metallic like.

is it the same as before? most pads will have a wear indicator which is probably what you had before. if hte noise is different now, it is probably due to vibration. did you put grease in there when you were installing them? there is also a vibration absorber (almost like a glue) that you can apply to the back of the break pads prior to installing them. oh yeah, and i dont think pounding with a rubber mallet does any damage.
