Default Got a qeustion for you local z owners

Hey guys,
I just sold my wrx and now am looking into purchasing an 04+ 350z. I was wondering how many of you have had problems from tire feathering or window motor problems? I've been reading a lot on this forums and the tire feathering really bothers me. I get alignments for free, but read that is more like a temproary fix. I'm not too concerned about the car being down for minor repairs since I have a second one.

I guess my 2nd qeustion would be...do you guys ever regret getting a z?

I have an 04 6MT and I had no tire feathering issues before my suspention modifications (all 3000 miles of it).

Even after all the little piddley crap that has stalled and gone wrong with little projects; I have not for a minute regreted buying a Z. Infact its the oposite, I've had girls get all butt hurt about how I treat my car and spend all my money on it. The car is still here they arent You can say Im more loyal to that car than to any person.

What modle are you looking at getting?

my window just rolls all the way up then cracks down. its kind wierd. thats only if you use the auto roll up or whatever you wanna call it when you pull the button as far as it can go. or it also happens when closing the door hard. other than that i came from a turbo prelude. the only thing that sucks sometimes is not having back seats but hey two girls on top of eachother aint too bad either.

if it's an 04+ you shouldn't have much troubles. I had an 03 (the worst year problem wise) and I had zero tire feathering, zero mechanical issues, and only the grease on the window problem which didn't bother me too much.

Definitely go for a z. You will notice a huge difference in how power is delivered compared to your wrx

Alright u guys got me even more sold. As for me, I'm just going to be looking for a base since this will be my 2nd car. Hard to find a used, low low mileage, 6 spd 350z. Worse comes to worse, I'll just buy an 07 base.

I would seriously wait for the '08. It'll probably have 20% more HP like the G37.

I'm thinking about it. I've test driven two 04's and an 05. Loved both of them, but at the time I was in the middle of selling my wrx and the dealer wanted the sale that day. O well...search continues

MY.02 If you go for the base and you upgrade the Diff you need the stub shafts. Its all realy in how deep your wanting to get into modding that may determine your final car. Realy the bigest thing with the base is the dif. It sucks and needs to be replaced. After that every thing else is up in the air. You'll save a few thousand going with the base but loose a few little things.

Its not a big sacrifice especialy if your buying used.

The nismo diff comes with new shafts, bolts, seals, bearings and best of all it takes less than 15 minutes to adjust it in the car. :-)
