Default Plenum Install

I just got my Crawford plenum in the mail yesterday. gunna be going on friday or this weekend. And just curious are you suppsed to tq it down to a certain amount, or just tighten it down?

I read on motordyne install for spacer it was 100in lbs to tq it down, didnt seem like a lot. So just making sure. Thanks.

i might be wrong, but a 100lbs/in2 sounds pretty tight... considering crankshaft pullys are torqued to about 130lbs, and sometimes my impact gun takes along time to get that sh*t off. And if you try and take it off with a breaker bar, you gotta karate kick it to break the bolt loose.
Use a torque wrench to tighten it just to be on the safer side. Better to do it right the first time. good luck.......................................

Fromers Fun Fact!!! A crankshaft nut gets tighter after they are on a car thats running. The spinning slowly tightens the nut to a SCHIT LOAD!.

when i was doing my plenum, i remember that you have to tighten it down in a certain order. kind of like how you have to tighten down the lug nuts for your wheels in a certain order.

install is very easy. it might be very wise to tighten the bolts down to exact measurements. i tightened mine too much and broke a bolt. i was lucky to get it out

Luck schmuck, if you tighten the bolts down too much you just need to cut the head and back it out by hand. If you cant get to it there is no tension on it so you can use a pick or some thing to spin it out. Done it dozens of times. Its simple.

I just did it by hand tightened till it was snug then just a lil bit more. Although my dumb *** left the m3 bracket on and had a vaccum leak when i first started her up. Squeling like crazy. Was just enough to finally be able to stay ahead of my buddies evo =)
