most of the time when i get "hit" by lidar the cop looks at the gun and tries again as i coast by them. i dont slam the brakes or reduce speed suddenly. i just remove my foot from the gas and coast by so they wont end up pulling me over for something stupid like recon or anything.

If they don't have radars, only lazers, I would think they wouldn't set it off. I don't have one so I dunno if something else they have sets it off so you can have a warning if they're around.
