Default Window troubles, suggestions?

hello all, having trouble with my windows. they want to roll all the way down when i turn off the ignition. but when the car is running, all is good. i have the controls disconnected right now just to keep up the windows. i have already checked all the fuses and tried the key fob battery thing. if anyone knows how to fix this without going to the crappy dealers here, please share!

thanks
Jay

You probably need to have the motor replaced, or refreshed. My window would get stuck and roll down half way down when the car was off, dealer replaced the motor and it was back to normal.

Heres some info on a DIY

Some people are just replace the motors with aftermarket units.

thats quite odd. did you have those new motors replaced by the stealership? If so, I think you can take it back and have them take a look at it.

not by the dealer, the shop that did my paint and body work had the door panels off to carry my lines thru. I went in and put them in myself. it might not be related but i started having problems with them after i had to change my battery last weekend. but i changed it with the car running, so i really don't know

Strange. Maybe try reseting the regulator? It's worth a shot.

Do both of them try to roll down when you turn off the car? You can roll down the windows by turning and holding the key in the unlock position in the driver side door, maybe one of the wires leading to the key cylinder is faulty?

None of the windows will operate without the switch since there won't be any signal running to either of the regulators.

If you turn the key to on while the windows are going down by themselves, do they stop?

If so, I'm guessing it has something to do with the function of the key cylinder window roll down and/or switch.

Just a guess.
