I got a call from a car auto sounds shop today and they want to "demo" my car for a show coming up on the 24th on base. anyone have any experience with this, and is there anything I should watch out for? I don't want to get taken advantage of and would appreciate any help people can offer.

 

which auto shop...id just be cautious because...usually the audio shops only shoot for the aug or HIN show...only do it if you feel comfortable...if the shop has been in business for a while then its ok...

 

its the shop that is on base, and the show is on base, and i work on base and my car will be seen up there all the time.

 

did they already do your stereo or are just calling random people with nice cars?

 

no stereo in yet, i actually just got back from talking to the owner. they want to build a custom 10" box for 2, double din dvd/nav head, replace door and rear speakers, headrest screens, dynomat, and something else i don't remember. all alpine and monster. he said he will give me below invoice price on componets and i pay no install or fabrication costs. so let me know what you guys think.

 

when you say base...which one?

sounds like too good a deal to pass up to me. if you wanted to get a custom stereo anyway and don't mind losing trunk space.

 

I'd ask to see their work...preferably their customer's cars in person. that way you're not paying for POS work.

 

i'm going up there today to see the actual install bays and a charger that they just finished. so i really don't want to make the decision without that.

 

When is the show? Just curious, may drive up there and check it out if the Z is finished up.

Every thing should be wrapped up by the (knock on wood). I'll swing by and see whats going on. Definately not gonna be in the show, toooo many little things I would have to fix. My car still has an *** dimple from a year and a half ago. Been eyeing the charge speen rear bumper and Stillev V2 front bumper though....

regarding the bold, not sure how that'd work in a 2 seater... hehe but if the shop does good work then that's a steal. I'm sure there's bound to be a catch though. perhaps a huge sticker on your vehicle at all times sponsoring that audio shop, or perhaps a requirement that you need to show up for the car show they want you at.... find out for sure what they require from you for the free install and discount.
