You can pick up rivets at Sears or Home Depot fairly cheaply. Pop guns are cheap to.

As for templates you can make one. Just get a peice of corrigated card board larger than the duct. Put the back of the duct flush on the cardboard and press firm and hard. The edges of the CF duct will make an impression. cut arround the outer edge of that impression. This will allow enough room to slide the duct in and out of the finished whole fairly easily. Total time takes about a minute to make the template.

I personally would use Hi-locks.....much cleaner look i think...

as for the pop rivets-- just go buy some and try it out on something else first......you will see.....its easy.

Yo...I did use a template that varis sent but they sent screws...chrome ones...instead of rivets. So I went to Homedepot and got black ones....didn't do rivets. Like mike said easy to make but I'm sure you can find it on the forum somebody somewhere has asked the same thing. I think I remember back when...there was a how to thread, that had everything, pics, template etc. but that was way back last Jan 07ish when I did mine. Just do a search or google it....might find it. But yeah to put it in the right place and not to f##K it up, use the template. You only got one shot, once its cut...its cut no going back bro!

If you use rivets, ask the sales man which ones dont corrode. Thats the biggest thing. The cheapy ones rust or powder oxidize. All else fails there is a little trick. Get clear laqure nail polish and dot the heads making sure you cover the whole head. and thin coat will cover enough to seal.

Best thing to do is replace the screws first. Its easier to start with a zero rust part than try to repair the rust and paint over it.

So u just used screws instead of rivets? Did u have to drill the holes a little bigger on the duct before installing it?

the urethane material of the bumper would be enough to hold the duct in place...

No drilling just bought screws the same size as what varis sent and the duct already had holes....just srewd them in. Like ward said...the bumper is so soft..just screw them in.

Just use aluminum rivets. No rust to worry about

Whatever floats your boat! very easy...to use screws if you dont have rivet gun handy (like most of us non mechanics) or whatever you use for rivets.....
