Well not realy in just yet but I'm doing a little finish work to the engine cooling system. I just purchased 2 Mishimoto slim line high volume radiator fans. ALSO, Im working with them directly to get slim line shroud made for the Z. Currently they dont have one designed and I've asked them about the pheasability of making one for their stock listing. If the price is comperable to the R33 shroud setup, then it will be $265 with shroud and 2 fans.
I'll post pics up as it goes along but they havnt even shipped yet. Hopefuly it will get done before Thanksgiving because my car ships out on the 26th. Over the next couple of weekends I will be wrapping up alot of other things too. The relocated wildshield washer pumps that I did work but they dont have enough volume so before I left I altered the Greddy can to act as a sump adding additional volume needed to have the pumps work. Again pictures waiting install. AND YES THERE WAS JB WELD INVOLVED

Got an email back from their production guy. It will be 6 to 8 weeks. They are doing alot of new vehicles and the Z is in line.
It shouldnt be that hard to make one, if some one has access to 1/16" sheet aluminum, a break press, and basic metal working tools. You would make the canter peice the dimensions of the rad core, say 20X28. Then make the fold over tabs. This will be the depth of the box and be the depth of the slim line fans and say + 1/4 for clearence. So now it looks like a BIG FAT plus sign.
Next sincs you obviously want to weld this up nice, you make a 1/4" trailing edge that will be folded over on right side of each tab starting at the top going clockwise. Now it looks like a BIG FAT Schwastika. You mark of the mounting point and give your self about an inch wide strip long enough to reach the mounting holes.
Now the easy part, bend all the last tabs down first then all the depth tabs down. This will form an open box with reinforced seams. Last bend the mounting tabs out. Mark and drill locations for the mounting hardware. Next lay the slim lite fans down, trace main surface area. So for mine I would have 2 12" circles. Drill a hole in the center of each and use air shears the cut out the circles. Mount the fans in the holes mark and drill mounting spots for fan hardware and pop rivet the fans in place with aluminum rivits.
Yep thats about it. A stocked machine shop and you can get this down fairly quickly. The only major things you want to do are: add about 1/32 to each length for each bend you do becase the bends will consume more material and finish off the meal cur ends so you dont cut your self later on. The 1/16" aluminum should be think enough for this, if not go up to the 1/4" it would be better to weld on but you will have issues cutting it with an air shears. It would be an impresive peice though after the cutting and welding, it you had it polished.
I dont have access to any of these items so Im at the mercy of a company. you are look at a cost of aproximatly the price of a 28 X 34 sheet of aluminium and your time if you have all the tools.

Hell you dont even need a break. If you have air shears, you can cut out the big plus and leave the small tabs. Take it to Moo's and they can break it over and do a total of 9 inches of aluminum welding which is about $75 for the walk in man. From there every thing else you can do it your self. Maybe a total of just under $100 if you have Moo's break and weld. Your self your looking at $30 total if all work was done in house. These shrouds realy are not that expensive. The majority of the cost is labor and markup. Hell the high velocity racing fans with 10 blades and almost 3000rpm were only $100 so with Mishimoto you are looking at a 100% mark up to $260.
Once Mishimoto's gets their stuff straightened out, they will probably be the cheapest on the market fot complete kits.

Well my @ss is finally on the way home. This has been the most annoying and destructive trip I've been on not to mention my last one. I've blown up compressors, destroyed generators, exploded a bank of lights almost burning down a US consulate, destroyed a wall due to a 2200psi tank of compressed gas being knocked over during a building implosion during the middle of the night, had a school book confiscated in customs in Austrailia because some fool spilled meat gravy on it (no not that kind you sicko), had a lost luggage with about half of my holiday gifts for family lost, been in a taxi wreck and had some odd bug that had me leaking out of all holes. All in all there was a fair amount of damage and bad luck. I will say nothing that occured destructive wise was my fault, its just my luck. Odd **** happens to me.
With my trip being extended an extra 9 days thats cut deep into my garage time. Between: finishing my last class up, getting the jeep ready for sale, wrappping the little crap I have left up on the car, and getting her winterized and prepped for shipping I have little free time now. Oh not to mention I have to sort out alot of junk and maybe try to sell off stuff to get my packing weight under my alotted amount.
I came on island with 3000 pounds of crap and I've accumulated about 1500 more, so Im cutting it close on my weight allowance. I may have a fire sale getting rid of a bunch of stuff. If so I'll post up what Im getting rid of.
