yeah..dont get paid till the 8th so it will prolly be around the 16th i come in
Sea Life Park is aquariumsih. We don't have the greatest stuff on Oahu with that regards (between Sea Life Park and the Waikiki Aquarium). I think the Maui Ocean Center at Maalaea Harbor on Maui is a hell of a lot better.
My suggestion is cruise around the island and check out the scenes. Shopping is best at Ala Moana Shopping Center or Pearlridge Shopping Centers.
since you staying in the north shore. you have to go to the famous kahuku shrimp truck, hukilau cafe(laie) order the hukilau burger but they close at 1:00pm, mormon temple, crouching lion inn(don't go in the water!!!! hella sharks), matsumoto's shave ice, haliewa joes.
ask for a cabana on the beach at turtle bay. it's like a little house.

when you get into laie (directions as if you head left out of turtle bay), there's a shopping plaza on the right...at the light in front of it, turn left up anemoku st and then right onto naupaka st and go to the end...there's an awesome lookout up there...gorgeous view...the stacked rocks out on the rock formations are peoples wishes and prayers...just watch out for the holes in the rock you're walking on!
head north out of hale'iwa town and try to follow the signs towards dillingham airfield to watch the skydivers and then head about 3/4 mile north of that to ka'ena point...should be awesome waves and spray...tell your girl to bring a hoodie and a hair tie, cuz it's bound to be windy...just watch the rutts from he// with the rental...
on north shore...definitely hit matsumoto's (but if the line is nuts, the shave ice place just to the left of matsumoto's is just as good), hale'iwa joe's is a bit pricier, but the food and choices are pretty great...kahuku shrimp truck definitely...oh, and laie is a mormon town, so everything's closed on sundays...buy some cheap snorkel stuff and snorkel inside the inner reef at shark's cove if the weather's good and the water's calm...tons of crazy fish in there...
if you're into cultural stuff, check out three different places down towards kane'ohe...in order from turtle bay, there'll be kualoa ranch...there you can check out some touristy stuff, eat some really tastey but really bad for you local food, go for a horseback ride or take an atv tour of the ranch where they've filmed scenes from stuff like '50 first dates', 'lost' and 'jurassic park' (ok, not so cultural, but i'm gettin' there)...out the parking lot to the right from the ranch and turn left into the parking lot just around the corner to get an awesome pic in front of chinaman's hat (a small island just off shore that looks like a rice hat - old stories tell of the chinaman sitting under the 'hat' keeping watch over kane'ohe bay)...turn left continuing toward kane'ohe and a couple few miles further towards kane'ohe you'll see a cemetary on the right...it's awesome to drive through and see the different cultural stones there...but if you drive all the way to the back there's a replica buddhist temple called byodo in...it's breathtaking. beautiful gardens and fishponds...huge koi and a really gigantic prayer bell to make a lot of noise with...
let me know if you want anymore ideas...i'm full of 'em...lmao...

I was going to ask if you are into ****, you answered that question.

Well since you are staying up north there I'd say check out the waves. I suggest you and the wife absolutely do not go into the water up north. If you want to go into the water, go to Ala Moana beach park. This time of year can be really dangerous on the north shore.

on north shore during the winter, the waves are ridiculously huge and the current is so fast...better swimming (and safer) is down on the southern shores in waikiki during the winter

The best thing you can do is make sure you swim at beaches with lifeguards and obey the lifeguards' warnings. The north shore lifeguards (along with those at Makaha) are very good and know what they are talking about.
The south shore (Waikiki, Ala Moana) meanwhile are pretty benign by comparison even when the waves are the same size as the north shore waves.
