Default So, uh...

Anybody wanna help me put some headers on? I tried today at the hobby shop, and the Z owned me... I got the heat shields off, but no matter what I did, I couldn't reach the stock header bolts, and in 3 hours, made no progress whatsoever...

Could use some help if anybody's got the time to kill... If not, it's cool, I'll save up and have a shop do it.

from what i hear, headers are one of the hardest mods to do on a Z. In most cases, you'll need a lift. I'd say expect anywhere 4-12+ hours of labor depending on your experience level. I personally can't speak of any, but you may want to read the tech DIY section for pointers.

My best advice is to take it in and have someone do it for you.

Yeah, I had it on the lift at the hobby shop, just couldn't get anywhere with it... I'm pretty mechanically inclined... I do all of the maintenance on the Z myself, and am pretty good at working on it.

Dude, I would have helped you out but I was running around Hawaii trying to get my apartment situated. Headers are pretty hard to install though... probably one of the few mods I'd let someone else do =)

from what i read from the DIY tech area. you will need to mark, unbolt, and take the steering column off and then the hard coolant lines, and your engine crossbar

Had this problem a few months ago. I just took it down to Seth at sonics and had him do the install. Gave him car in the morning and had it in the afternoon. If all else fails, take it to him. He gave me the cheapest installation quote on the island. GL

Thanks for the info. Where is Sonics located at? I've heard the name a few times, for various things, but not sure where it is.

Got the Z back tonight from Sonic. Am definitely loving the headers. Z sounds so much better. Btw, they welded the hole in my exhaust for me too...
