Ok, now that I am not jacking someone else's thread, lets get some answers to some questions. Is this a real car club? Where is the President? What did the due money get spent on? Why is it at every event, you guys can come if you want to..... instead of "this is an official car club function?" Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to tear whatever is left apart, I'm just trying to get some real answers. I have met alot of people thru the "club" that I will remain friends with for the rest of my life, but some just seem to be out there to rock a sticker. I for one take the work that myself and others did before deploying to get this "club" on its feet to heart, only to watch it crumble and fall away to what it is now. The same 5 or 6 people at every event, or meet, or whatever else. My Z is not even here and it won't be coming back to the island, yet I am still out there. And furthermore, I don't want a PM because this is stuff that everyone involved needs to know, not just me. I am not the type of person to sit back and keep my mouth shut. But it is what it is, and its whatevs

 

 

ok here's the answer:

1. to me and some of the local guys still thinks that this is a club.....its just that this clubs members are mostly military.

2. i dont know where the president of the club is. i've been wonderin also just like the rest of us....so as a vp for this club, i am steppin up answerin your questions.

3. money from the paid dues we reimbursed james for the shirts that got printed out, the banner, installl day, a gift certicate for toy4tots. i'm not sure of what the amount is. and i was informed today after work that we still have additional funds. since everybody stopped paying the dues. nobody wanted to pay dues in the first place. we paid dues cause its what we voted on.

4. events? ok we had toy4tots and the new years car show. these were the biggest events that OahuZ was involve on except 4th of july show. lets just say that everybody wants to join in on the band wagon.....and from the top of my head i can tell you who is still active on this club if you want me to name all.

i hope i somewhat answered your question or at the least got the idea of what i'm tryin to say. AJ and I are tryin our best to keep this club up and running.

 

Okay, now that there is an official thread, I won't delete my comments. Again, much props to Jeff and AJ for keepin it going as much as they could. We know its a difficult thing to work with what you have. Noboby, is faulting you guys. Since you are the VP, you should step in as the Prez since Prez has vitually disappeared. Aj should step in as the VP. Its only right, you guys have been there from the start. In the absense of leadership, the next in line has to step up. You guys been doing that anyway and you should be applauded for your time and effort.

The New Years show off wasn't an official event. It wasnt' put out on the forums as an official event..it was like a "who gonna go" type thing. Not OahuZ. To me it was an individual thing, just so happend a couple of members got together and rolled together. But I didn't see that it was official. I just posted the event for infomation. Most of you guys have time and a life to devote to every meeting and event, some don't. But thats the nature of this business. Its up to you guys to keep it going. Again, both of you have been doing a great job under the circumstances.

 

If I had a regular 9 to 5 I'd be at each show/meet/event....

 

I'm gonna be real, I can't do it anymore. I will come support my friends at shows or whatever, but as far as being in a club, it's just not in me.

When this club was up? Bro, its like this, my car is not coming back to the island. I am leaving in a few months. Lets not forget who did the research, paid out of pocket, and who's name all of the legal paperwork is in. And the little cards you tag peoples cars with, yeah I designed and paid for that too. And all that was before this club was "up". It wasn't even a club yet. I dedicated alot of time and effort to what the club was, it was almost like watching my kids grow up. And to put in that kind of work and see what it became when I left? How am I supposed to act? Its painful to break away from something I helped build, something I watched grow, but its got to be done. Some lessons are just learned better the hard way.

 

Jay, the club was always up (we had a few rough months and I can admit to that) and just like you, the officers and those who volunteered to make things happen did it as a benefit for the overall club - we're not seeking any recognition whatsoever as individuals. I speak not only for myself but the entire team, that we really appreciate your time, effort and money you put into this club. Its unfortunate that you feel leaving us is the only option, but rest assured we won't let your hard work "die".

Jeff and I are working closely to reorganize the team, its structure and its leadership. OahuZ will continue to move forward though thick and thin regardless the issues that may lie ahead and we need everyone's support to work through it. We've been a team since 2003....and I don't see it stopping anytime soon

 

I hopped on this forum to shout out to Joe because i saw him yesterday by bellows and to say his car was hot but i find this. Well my hats off to both Jeff and AJ for putting the effort to oahuZ that i didn't. I resign my role in the club and hope you all make it bigger and better than it ever was.

But on a side note. I lost interest in this club when drama was happening between us. Its funny when people complain about someone but don't have the ***** to say it to their face. Except a few of us that tell it how it is. You know who you are.

I can honestly say i enjoyed hanging around with friends more than before this club even started. People wanted structure and thats what we tried to do. Well it was nice meeting all the great people that i did. Im sure ill see you guys around. I disconnected my number awhile back ill pm you jeff so someone can pick up the shirts and banner.

I am not sure what all drama was going on while we (The military guys) were gone, but once I got back, and I asked where you were at the meets... All I got was shoulder shrugs... If you couldnt show due to greater responsibilities... it's understandable... If you just had too many things going on and you didnt have the time to invest in the club... you should have let us know... We would have done what we could have to support you... or replace you if that was your intent, but with your role as President, you took on the responisibility to be a leader. You should have shown up or let someone know why you were not attending. We would have all understood... I understand you dont like the drama...No one does, but if you dont want people to complain... dont give them a reason. I will admit... I complained about you not attending... not letting other members know what was going on... but as someone who believes in the "Oahu Z: A group of enthusiasts that share a common intrest and ideas that will offer support when called upon. Everyone will have respect towards one another." I feel like I have the right, and so should everone else that expected you to fulfill your duties as President.

I am sure I speak for many others when I say I wished this would have turned out different. I wish the best of luck, to you and your family.

 

I really cannot say more than the Fishbone has said. The officers of the club were elected for a specific reason, to manage the club, and to hold it together since they are all local to the island. All of us military guys come and go, taking our cars and experience with us. We have a certain mindset, structure and discipline. I guess that is only in the military world. I do not have beef with anyone in the club, or those that I have met thru the club. I will come out and support my friends in any event that they so choose to participate. I wish, I truly wish and hope that you guys can recover from the resignation of Kamu, and that you can now pick up and move forward to do great things. Best of luck to you guys...

 

Wow!!!! What happens to the family? I can't believe my eyes when I read this ****! I remember when all of us will chill back and hangout, carcruise,race like maniacs down H1 and after stop at a gas station and talk **** and smile! I been away from over 6 months and I jump here to say hi to everyone and all I see is that drama got worst. You guys need to remember why u are here, what is the reason we all meet every week, forthe love we have to the 350z community. We didn't hangout because we like paying money, or to make mandatory ****. When I first join this group it was just a hangout, go have fun, we help each other with our cars. When I left it was about mandatory shows, paying money and ppl stop showing.

I know this is not my problem, but as a Oahu Z member (I always be OahuZ), it hurst to see my family like this.

Jeff and aj, keep up the good work and I know u guys will do great thing with this club

one more thing, stop throwing knife to ppl. If u do t have something nice to say, keep it to youself. Like someone say here. WE ALL VOTED FOR THIS!!!

what can i say, eh hopefully this thursday me and aj can decide what to do with the club. maybe its a time to change the club name OahuZ to something else. as for all i know is that when it first started out it had dramas and so does now. so maybe, just maybe we need to change the name and start a new beginning.

 

Jeff, I understand where you are coming from in wanting to change the name and start over. I just ask you to think about the amount of paperwork (tax exempt group and registered name thru Hawaii) that would have to be reapplied for. I really want this club to succeed and I will help you guys if you need it.
