starting problem
2007 350z stock about 39xxx miles 6-speed
I notice my car when I start it sounds like it is struggling before the engine actually turns. This recently just started. I checked my battery and the voltage is fine so I dont think its the battery. Any idea what else it could be that would make my car have a hard time starting?
thanks

Check to be sure your terminals are clean and no acid or white powdery substance on it,..take a battery terminal cleaner to it and reconnect..
Highly unlikely is a blown alternator or battery fuse in the engine bay fuse box, or maybe fuel pump/injector fuse in the interior fuse box...
If it trys to start but doesnt start, then its not the battery or power...
Thats when you can get "mechanical" and look around in the engine bay for loose plug wires, disconnected items, etc...Did you work on your car recently or anything else different before the problem started?
Good luck..
i voltmetered it and it read 12.7V the call is stock no engine mods. Ive been doing all the oil changes myself thats about it. the car tries to start but it doesnt. but if i stop trying and wait for it to rest or something then it starts but not strong like it used to.
If it was fuel problem, the car should crank strong and not weak like you are describing..

just fixed it, it was the battery even though the voltmeter measured the right voltage there wasnt enough juice coming from the batter. It was just weird cus the car is only 2 years old.
Was it an oem battery?
OEM should be done with in a couple years anyways...
Get a Optima battery as they got em at Costco and you can return if you have charging problems and your Optima battery dies out in less than a year.. Lighter than oem and plenty cranking power. Sears Platinum worked out the best in holding charge if you have stereo, lights, alarm as it did in my Subaru,..It seemed to hold power better than Optima, but it's like 2x heavier to me...
