This makes me call into question the validity and origin of this deal...
Can u explain how u came about doing this? Meaning the steps that give u this price?
It appears to be a clear glitch that one will be lucky at best to obtain.

lol you guys can read through this thread.
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthr...22434&t=571415
There's a scan of a receipt in the 2nd post.
Basically, you have to get lucky and make sure the manager doesn't actually call to check if Office Depot has it in stock. 50/50 Chance.
And whoever said they are different models, you have to convince Sears that they're not. They're exactly the same, with the kit lens, but for some reason, Sears adds extra 2 letters or something to the model number. Like I said, it takes a little bit of luck. You guys might have had a better chance trying it a few days ago since a lot of people are doing it now.

Oh yeah, and I would suggest not calling because that'll only give them a heads up.
You can also try Walmart, but they're probably going to be hard too.

I don't need to post a receipt do I ??? For the socal peeps, I went to the Sears on Rosemead Blvd and Colorado Blvd. It's upstairs and the manager and sales person were both Asian. It's funny because seriously, it seems like they were all noobs except for the manager. I was just polite and waited for the Chinese woman to finish up her crap. I think they were all a little disoriented after the Chinese lady so maybe I got lucky?
As for the print out...do not add it to the cart. I was a little confused about the directions at first so I'll re-write it again:
1. Go to www.officedepot.com (type it in your web browser).
2. On the Right Hand Side look for the "view cart" button.
3. It will tell you to enter a Zip code.
4. After zip code is entered, you will get a screen that let's you click "Pick up at store". Click it.
5. A map will show up and scroll down a little bit and click "Choose this store". Do not click anything else.
6. Then while you are at this screen enter the SKU # 283936 on the top search area. It says "Search For" and enter the number in the following box.
7. Now it should say $399.99. Do not add it to cart.
8. Print out this page using Internet Explorer. I used Firefox and it came out all messy. It should be two pages.
9. Bring it in to Sears. Good luck!

Look for the students employees that don't really give a fck.
You still have to go through the manager, but it might help a bit.
Sorry guys, I should have posted this on the day I got it, for the my350z members, but I was pretty tired after visiting 2 Super Walmarts at 5AM.

The price is legit, my sears here in lewisville called and they verified that it is a clearance item and priced at 399 since the XTi is replacing it.... but, the OD guy also told the sears CSR that they were out of stock in the district and he wouldn't give me the deal.
I then went to Circuit City with the printout and they gave it to me for $399 after I showed them the steps on the website. Just familiarize yourself with choosing the location and hitting store pickup before searching for the product and be confident when you show them. It's worth the foot work to get it at this price
I'm hoping to trade up to the XTI and pay the difference tomorrow.
