the Bogen 3021 BPRO is capable of low macro or overhead shots, also. I use the Bogen 422 RC2 pistol grip head since it's quick and easy to make adjustments.

Nice... I'm envious... is that an XT with 70-200L?

How much did the complete tripod set you back?

I couldn't find the 3021 BPRO used at the time I was shopping around for a set up, so I bought it new from B&H for about $145 iirc. The 422RC2 was $90, give or take $10.

10D and 350D are in those pictures with the 70 200 2.8L IS. I've sold those camera bodies awhile ago; current set up up is 1D MKII and 20D. I'm just waiting for the next full frame body to be released so I can pick up a 5D once the prices drop.

hey thanks for the tips. i didnt think about those benefits of going high aperature at night. im lovin your shot.

ill probably pickup a tripod to try that stuff out at some point. im still going to practice hand held low light though because a lot of my shooting will be at the track and at shows here. at the track and some shows i feel like im pushing it with a slr already..and could easily see myself being asked to leave with a tripod ...ive already versed myself on the laws though so it should be straight..

It shouldn't make much noise; it's more of a vibration with a minor humm.

Yeah, when you press halfway on the shutter during focusing/metering, you'll hear a weird noise and vibration. Perfectly normal.

I feel like I've seen these on POTN before. Are you on there?

This would have been a while ago.

Maybe I'm just losing my mind.

pretty good on framing and controlling depth of field to bring out the focal point. suggestion - better location and better time of day (harsh lighting in those shots)
