Question for Photographers
What do you use to print out your photos. I'm currently using an Epson CX7800 and it's horrible. The photos come out streaky or what Epson refers to it as banding. It has been an issue with epson for years. They cant seem to get it right.
Can anyone recommend a really good photo quality printer?
Thanks

I've had this baby for awhile and each picture is perfect. Sorry it's an Epson...

Dumb questions here, but are you using photo paper and have you calibrated the printer. Also, do you use Epson inks or some off-brand?
Pretty much all inkjets have banding issues if not properly calibrated. Also, if you have the ability to set the printing to bi-directional, I would. It prints both directions this way. I have an Epson at work, which isn't a fair comparison for you since mine cost over 4 grand and has about 5 grand worth of software driving it and is 8 color. Point is, it's still an inkjet and does an unbelievable job.
I see that the one you have is an all-in-one also. I have a personal rule-of-thumb. All-in-one anything are decent at a lot, but not great at anything. If you want super quality photos, you're gonna need to get a photo printer.

Now what do you mean Calibrate it? Set it up for photos? Yeah I did that. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Should have said print head alignment instead of calibration. Maybe this photo will help. I'm assuming you're on a PC. If you're on a Mac, I can make another shot.

It's a VERY good printer.

Add this continuous ink system to it and you're golden. I've been looking for a new printer to upgrade to with a CIS and I'll give this Epson a whirl. I don't like the chips that Epson uses to prevent you from refilling your dye cartridges with pigment but the kit above tweaks the chipset so that it reports always full.
