Go for it.

You'll probably also want a battery grip; it'll help balance the body once you start using heavier lenses. The vertical shutter release is also good if you shoot in portrait mode often. The last benefit is the extra space for your right palm to rest on the camera body. Without it, your right hand (if you have big hands) gets a little scrunched, which sucks when you hold the camera for extended periods with a heavier lens.

Thanks for the info. Everyone recommends that lense, plus that info you just gave me, ill take the tamron
