Default New Canon 450 XSi

Oh boy... I'm reading the article right now. Guys wanting an entry level Canon DSLR...

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08...noneos450d.asp

ooops... just read the highlights...

bigger viewfinder, 12 MP (now for you beginners, this is the worst criteria to base your purchase), Live View (better than 40D's?), 3" screen, 14-bit processing... and now SD/SDHC card use.

Finally, a rubber grip!

Having used CF cards for most all of my cameras, I'm not too happy with the SD/SDHC card use.

Notice the kit lens comes with IS, now?

Looks like this Rebel XSi (450D) is a baby 40D.

Looks like it, and at $900 w/lens, it's a very nice D-SLR. One difference is the fps.

Come on Nikon, release a D80 upgrade/replacement. Don't want to change platform.
