Default Strobe Involved: Recent Shoot [Honda fanboys rejoice (56k beware)]

Did a recent shoot last sunday, and I'm moderately happy with the outcome. I was limited to where I could set up the strobe, as I forgot an extension cord
All full-size images can be seen on my flickr @ http://www.flickr.com/kevburgler.

Cars:
2x RSX, TL, Civic, STI

Equipment used:
Canon 20d
Canon 70-200 f/4
Alienbee B800
Speedlite 430ex (for engine shots, used as slave for interior shots)

Not bad but not great. I'd like to see the cars moved farther away from the building in the wide shots. The building competes for attention.

The strobe shots don't do anything for me. Adding another light or two would help tremendously as only one side of the car is lit.

i fully agree. this was my first shoot using my strobe, i've only used it for modelling before, so thought it was a great opportunity, and happily, i didn't have any trial and error pictures. right now i only have the one strobe, but hopefully within a month or so, i'll have another one to play with.

Nice DC5 ! I was thinking about ordering the same J's racing kit !

Why would he get the mugen Ecu over Kpro? Mugen and Spoon Ecu FTL. Great shots though !

he uses the mugen ecu for the track, and the stock ecu for the streets. he works at speedstar, which is the only importer around us that deals with j's, spoon, mugen etc directly.

P.S. i LOVE the j's kit for the dc5. i'd say do it! the white dc5 with the rega's has a mugen kit for his (also ftw), but he got owned by a speed bump the week previous.

Eh, I've had the Mugen ECU. You give them your specs and they build it to your desire. But if you ever want to change anything you have to send it all the way back to Japan, where as the Kpro you can do everything at your finger tips. Either way they are both nice DC5's. The only problem with the J's kit is the wait time...I'm so impatient.

If you're not using a CP, it'd be a worthwhile investment to cut through the windshield glare on shots on like this:

If you are using one, you'll want to adjust it.
