looking to get into getting back into photography. did the whole FM 35mm thing back in my first year of college (took a B&W photo class). since then i've only used a point and shoot. so now i'm looking to step into the digital world by buying a DSLR
after doing some research sounds like the nikon d60 is the most reasonable choice for me. at first i was looking into getting a d80 but it seems like it's old technology. also another option was to get a Canon XTI. i have a connection at Canon and the company store is offering a refurbished XTI kit with a 18-55mm lens for $449. but that's pretty much old technology too. unfortunately, the canon company store is only offering a XT, XTi and a 30D right now. otherwise if they had a XSi i would probably get that.
so what should i do? and where's a good place to buy equipment?
thanks in advance

If you wanna buy online, then bhphotovideo.com is pretty standard. I've had nothing but good experiences with them. You might also wanna check out amazon and adorama.
For local stuff in SoCal, I go to Samy's.
