hey AUtigers350z, how far away were you from your subjects? I found a similar prime lens to play with and some of those tubes, but everything turns out incredibly blury except when i use the smallest tube size and the lens is like RIGHT NEXT TO the object, literally!

You should try a 50 mm reversed hanging off the front of a 200mm lens, the focusing distance is under 1". Virtually impossible to do hand held, so my next toy will be a focusing rail.

For the prime lens I use a reverse mount (the pictures I posted) and with the tubes I use a regularly mounted zoom lens (generally my 17-85) that allows me to focus and zoom in and out.

Great photos. Did you use a flash at all? Here are some of my first attempts. Nikon D90 with reversed 50mm lens. Hotshoe flash was used on all the photos.

Nice shots! 2 of my favorite things.. money and lenses

I used a mounted 430ex for some of them, but all of my "subjects" were underneath a close light source.
