Default Processing... Before & After pics.

Did a search for "post processing" and "before and after" and couldn't find anything so I figured I'd start one.

Usually pretty cool to see the picture straight out of camera and how the final product turned out.

I'll start with a couple of mine, nothing special, just basic stuff.

Sky replacement and rig removal

This had more color in it on the first edit, but got lost during my re-edit process. Probably go back and fix it sometime. It wasn't meant to be a "selective color" edit.

Lets see yours!

I really like that 2nd shot! I don't have many before pics but have recently started archiving my RAW's from past shoots. Here's a quick before and after of an STI I shot a few months ago.

Thanks, I adjusted contrast and did some minor dodge/burn and applied a couple different adjustments to levels and curves. Here's another one:

I'm shooting an album cover for a friend and he likes my work but says it's too "clean" and he's looking for more of a raw, gritty feel with high contrast and noise. This was the opposite of what I'm used to shooting but I took to the challenge and explained I was most likely able to duplicate this in post which he doubted. Here's some samples I sent him.

and another he's contemplating about using. I dont' have the before but it was just as clean as the others

Haha I know it's a strange thing to do instead of reducing noise I added it. He's a big fan of Depeche Mode and the album shots they had so I took a look at them and got a feel for what he was thinking about and wanting. I know you can't duplicate film but I think I'm close enough for him to approve it which is cool. Now just to see what exactly he wants to shoot and go from there.

I'll throw my "before and after" hat into the ring.

Edits were in CS5. Spot healing with content aware to clean up the pavement, layers to blur the background and add some contrast, touch of Lucis.
