Sorry about posting this here, the mazda forums are slowwww and some good photoshops get done in this forum so I figured this was my best bet. It's a red mazda 3, she wants to see how it would look with blacked out tail lights, black spoiler, black door handles, and black side view mirrors. It's hard to tell from the pics but the emblems are already black. If you guys have any other advice/suggestions I'd appreciate it. Anyway here are the pics

Can I ask what's so bad about the wheels? Is it just because they are cheap? The red lip? I'm not looking to start a heated argument, just curious. It's a damn 2.3 liter mazda that's never going to even smell the track, she doesn't need to spend 3k on the latest forged wheels to hit the market. The fact that a chick is into modifying her car is good enough as it is if you ask me.

I agree with you about it being a girl's car, the 3 is a cool little car. There's nothing bad about the wheel, but if it just a bit bigger it would be kinda nice. As for the black out things that she wants to do, I think it would be better if she just black out the side mirrors + front grill and may be smoked the taillight and headlight. Black out the door handles + spoiler make the car looks cheap in my opinion....like some Neon with black door handle or riced out Civics with black plastic spoiler. Just my opinion

P.S. Don't know about you guys but red taillight make it looks like a Chevy Calvier

OK the picture isn't complete, but I decided to black out the inner grill fins, upper skirt insert, roof and foglight light cup along with the rearview mirror. I also added a black section behind the rear window section, which could easily be done with a piece of black vinyl. I put a very slight tint on the headlights and cleared out what I'm assuming is the turn signal. Fender signal repeater was deleted. Wheels are ugly IMO and make the whole car look dark; I think it would be much better suited with chrome or bright silver wheels. And obviously, it's lowered.







In the rear shot you can get a better idea for what I mean about the black vinyl section behind the rear window; this reduces the bulk of the rear pillar, and gives the window line much better flow. Very Audi-esque. I shaved all the emblems, blacked out the same items as above, tinted tails (moreso than the headlights). I painted the notch in the bumper where the license plate is to reduce the bulk of the rear bumper, and cleared out rear reflectors. Lowered and different wheels.

 

The fact that a chick is in to modifiying her car doesn't mean she can do tasteless and tacky **** to it and everything is OK. I mean that as a general statement--I'm not calling the wheels tasteless and tacky, just trying to make a point.

Personally I don't think the wheels are ugly by themselves--I just don't think they work for the car. The heavy red and black wheels added to the heavy red and black car just makes it look like a big blob of red and black. Personally I think it needs something to heavily contrast the car, something in chrome or silver. No, it doesn't need HREs like what I added to it in my PS, but there are many low-priced options ($1200 or less, with tires) that would compliment the car better than those wheels that are on there now. My opinion, of course.
