Thats what I was thinking when I was told by a reputable Cosworth employee thant it yield "significant gains" above 7000 a few months ago

With the slightly more aggressive cams and exh cam timing function of the RevUp I dont see why it wont make a few more ponies than a regular DE....especially consdering where this piece is making power 7000+ where cams play a larger role and exh timing becomes even more critical

Back when this was relayed to me it was FCON + Mani to yeild max results but with the advent of OSIRIS software for the price of a flash and this mani priced at 995.....many people have spent more for some shiny exhaust pipes that yield less power than this piece

I think 995 for a piece that can yield a solid 20+whp at peak improvement is a pretty good deal for the VQ market.....the spacers/MREV make great mid range power but only a few at peak if that (RevUps lose a few way up top)

Did anybody mention stock airbox or aftermarket (cos) intake filter?

Ok...where is the picture of you running back to the shop with my damn Plenum

 

I was able to view the dyno and flow data by Cosworth at SEMA... They only had NA data at the show and stated that JWT was doing testing on some prototypes and production units would be shipping in a week or two...

The gains on the NA dyno were all up top and aprx 15-20whp above 6000rpms... It definitely carried the power out past 7000rpms, where the stock comparison dyno dropped off at 6500rpms...

Cosworth claimed ~40whp gains on FI, but only time will tell - either way it looks really bad a$$!

 

They claim 40 rwhp Even 25 or 30 would be good.

If you can gain 40 rwhp FI with this plenum then I must say it is an excellent buy at the price.

 

given this, I am wondering if it will even make a difference on my car at all, or just be something nice to look at (in which case I'll sell the one I'm getting for my own testing). Based on the way my car pulls, it already holds power clear through to redline, but the real test will be if this piece will increase velocity vs my current setup. It would need to give a significant gain for it to be worth keeping on my car. But that's the beauty of playing with stuff...we get to see what works and what doesn't. I am really excited to get it on the car and start playing.

The other issue too, is how good this thing is out of the box, and how much room for improvement they left after some bench/port/flow work We spent alot of time with my current setup on the bench, and found big time gains, and I'm only using a tiny spacer (1/4 inch) and an 04 collector. I'll have to look carefully at it when its in front of me and figure out if I want to test it out raw, out of the box, or play with it a bit before fitting and retuning.

Can't wait to put it through its paces and see what she does!

 

Yup ....Sharif feels that with better flow from this plenum you should be able to get good HP with less PSI and higher RPM's.......damn I cant wait

 

Your results are exactly what I'm waiting for. Even if it holds power to the same level as your current set-up, it's a bolt-on part that equals the performance of all the custom work you had to do on your manifold. That would make things easier for someone who wanted to duplicate your engine build. Rather than messing around with custom porting & polishing of the stock pieces, a person could just bolt on this Cosworth manifold for the same results. Hopefully even better.

Well, after kinda ignoring this thread for a while. I'm happy to see we're getting much closer to putting them under the hood. Although 1K is alot for a plenum, my exhaust cost just as much. If the gains are what they say they are. Then my next NA mods are this plenum and a utec. I'm anxious to see the dyno graphs.

 

will we able to fit that under our stock strut bar?
