Thanks for the video.
??Would think that most guys in this forum would know how to do this?
But,from the posts I've read lately from noobs, there may be problems with some of these guys knowing how to open the hood!
Maybe its just me,but I never let my engine compartment get that dirty to do
a complete wash down.
A audio narrative on what you are doing would be better. The music serves no purpose other than distract from the information in the write up.

Yes pretty much. Cover up the filter with the bag, and seal it with a rubber band. I have the stock air box, so I didn't have to worry about this. Now regarding the alternator, I did not bother to cover it up because of the tight space that it was in and the front of the alternator where the pulley and fan is, is open for ventilation. Water is much more likely to enter there as it faces the front of the car. You'd have to assume its designed to tolerate water. Like the video says, use as little amount of water as possible to wash off the dirt.
What do you guys recommend doing if you do have a intake?? I was told to cover the filter and the MAF sensor with a garbage bag and just make sure theres no holes in the bag or potential for water to leak in from anywehre. And then to just use GUNK and spary the **** outta my engine. Anyone care to chime in?

All purpose cleaners are also good, they don't have that much many chemicals (green ones mostly) used in them and will be safe for most if not all parts in the engine!
I usually:
1. cover necessary parts
2. spray water sparingly in bay
3. spray all purpose cleaner and give it about 10 minutes (make sure it doesn't dry).
......pretty sure you all know how to continue from there.
The only difference I use are smaller brushes instead of one big brush for different areas and an air compressor after I rinse the engine.
