Default *** GT Motorsports 4.24L Stroker Kit Preliminary Dyno Results ***

In the last few weeks we have been anxious to complete the first pair of GTM stroker kit cars, mated with different stage heads. Additionally, different components were tried, including fuel injectors, intake manifolds, exhaust systems, and more. Here we present our accomplishments so far.

I would like to first start out by apologizing for the lack of updates over the last few weeks. Please rest assured that we have been hard at work nailing down the various issues, focusing on the soundness of the car as a whole and in turn its expected longevity rather than merely producing big HP/TRQ numbers (which was in our minds a certain thing). Second, I would like to thank all of our customers that purchased these stroker engines (without a sigle dyno result as of yet), relying solely on our reputation. We indeed greatly appreciate it.

Here are the two completed strokers currently in our shop.

4.24L Engine/Car #1 ('05 350Z RevUp)

FI: APS Extreme Twin Turbo Kit (50lbs/min turbos)
50 Short Block: GTM 4.2L stroker short block
Heads: GTM Stage 3 heads (1mm oversize valves)
Cams: JWT S7 cams
Studs: GTM 12mm head studs
HG: Cometic head gasket
Valvetrain: Ferrea single springs/Ti retainers
Fuel system: APS Extreme Fuel system
Cooling: Nissan Pathfinder mod, Koyo radiator, dual oil coolers (oil/power steering fluid)
Intake: Nissan OEM
Clutch: GTM Spec/Exedy Twin Plate Carbon
Red line: 7000rpm
EMS: HKS Fcon Vpro

4.24L Engine/Car #2 ('06 350Z RevUp)

FI: APS Extreme Twin Turbo Kit (50lbs/min turbos)
Short Block: GTM 4.2L stroker short block
Heads: GTM Stage 4 heads (1.5mm oversize valves)
Cams: GTM RevUp cams (prototype)
Studs: GTM 12mm head studs
HG: Cometic head gasket
Valve train: Ferrea single springs/Ti retainers
Fuel injectors: HKS 1000cc
Fuel system: CJ Motorsports Dual Pump (prototype)
Cooling: Nissan Pathfinder mod, PWR custom radiator, dual oil coolers (oil/power steering fluid)
Intake: Motordyne Engineering MREV Isothermal (5/16” spacer)
Clutch: GTM Spec/Exedy Triple Plate Carbon (prototype)
Red line: 8000rpm
EMS: HKS Fcon Vpro

Dynamometer results:
Each of the following charts were obtained from the Engine/Car #1

Dyno #1
612whp / 581lb-ft trq @ 12psi 93 octane (13gal of 91 octane AND 7gal of 100 octane)
Very conservative Fuel and Timing

Dyno #2
633whp / 614lb-ft trq @ 13psi 93 octane (13gal of 91 octane AND 7gal of 100 octane)
Again, very conservative Fuel and Timing

We will be switching to pure 105 octane tonight and then C16, on to our 24psi destination! Given the compressor flow maps and how well these turbos fit the 4.24L configuration, there will be no efficiency loss in going to those boost levels. This Turbo kit/4.24L stroker is an winning combination. And remember, this is still ONLY 12-13 PSI.
The car feels extremely stable in all aspects.

First congrats on the excellent job and excellent power production so far. A question, does the peak torque value directly correspond to the boost threshold (peak boost engine speed)? Also will both engines and fuel systems be tested to the same pressure ratio? Thanks!

Edit: Could you post the boost curve..

Great work Sam. I'm really curious to see what happens with engine #2 and 24psi... I'm betting 850+whp. Amazing what's starting to happen with these engines. Again, congrats on yet another milestone.

+1 on the 4.2l on a NA setup and on a non rev'ed up motor.

Is the power falling off before redline due to timing?
