Very nice setup. Props to ya. What are your next plans? Besides go faster. I know Sharif had to try to sell you some Volks.

the difference to me is that this car now has the ***** to back this look up, while most civic and eclipses on the other hand don't

There are so many things I want to buy for this car I really dont even know where to begin, plus, i think it's gonna be a while before i get bored with the car as it is right now. For the forceable future, i want to add a Carbonetic rear diff, some Tein SRC's, and a full complement of Defi BF guages. It's gonna be a while before that stuff happens though

Yes, the LSD would be mine first pick also. You don't want the Quaife instead? Direct replacement for the base model. But there both great diffs.

It was my understanding that the Carbonetic was the direct drop in, and it was the Quaife that needed additional hardware, but I may well be mistaken.

I have the Carbonetic LSD and I think Sharif did say that it was a drop in. It works great...I am glad I got it

I know the Quaife is a drop in for base models and if you have models with the factory VLSD, you would need to get some open diff axle studs from a base model. Not sure what is all needed with the Carbonetis, if any. It might as well be a drop in. If so, I didn't know. Plus it's about a $100 bucks cheaper.

I've done some reading about it, and I think i would most like the transitional characteristics of the clutch-type Carbonetic diff. Obviously I'll try to find a car with that particular diff to test drive before I had it installed. But from what I've read, it seems to be the unit best suited to my driving style.

LOL,

I wish, that is my mom's Miata. I have offered to let her drive my car, but she has no appreciation for high performance cars. To that car's credit though, it offers good, clean, simple (read: slow) fun. But it suits her purposes quite well, so I won't dog it too much. Give me about 30 years and there might be another car under that cover though

Congrats on the build James. Seeing yours finished just gets me excited all over again for my car. They started on it this week. How are you liking the SSQ? I need to decide between that or the Greddy RS.

I like the SSQV a lot, but truthfully, at full throttle with the wastegates wide open and venting through the dump tubes, I can barely hear it . Plus with the SSQV, you can swap out the fins to give it a different sound, so it gets my vote.

I was pumped up about the car before I went to get it, but when I got there, and he had it all clean up and everything and I was actually able to see everything on the car, I freaked out. So I can promise you won't be disappointed.

no, unfortunately i didn't get any gauges while i was there, but thats ok because there's always next time, and now I'll have a new toy to look forward too. The reason I didn't add it this time was basically that i had a budget that I wanted to keep this project within, and I figured gauges would be easy to install later. Plus I can't decide if i want Defi BF's in blue or amber ( I'm partial to the amber)

I understand that. It's kind of a hard peace of mind to slam down about a grand on gauges.
