I gots a whole slew of parts stacking up for my car with no place to go as well. I feel a little motivated to get to work, but then realize it is 3 months before I can drive the damn thing so why rush

i guess we are all different.. in my crew (the guys i hang out with and ride bikes with) one of my boys will tell us all on email what he has planned for his bike.. or what he has planned for his car.. and thats how he is..

me? i just show up with it.. thats how i do

when i bought my 07 GSX-R .. i told my boys we were going to ride one night.. i actually met up with my cousin on the highway.. followed him off the exit.. he didn't realize till he pulled over to find out why i was following and who i was..

when i bought my Z .. i just showed up with it.. TT Kit.. just showed up with it.. never told anyone.. nver said a word..

thats just my nature.. the only reason i made a thread aobut my build was to thank MRC for their exceptional work.. apart from thta.. no one knows anything

This is gonna be a sick build, and its so cool seeing all the parts together just chillin' on the floor before the big build. One question though, why did you decide not to just go ahead and sleeve the block?

after talkign to joe and talking to louie i came to the conclusion that very rarely does a cylinder bust through the cylinder wall...the vq's cylinder walls seem to be very strong...im going to try to run 700 on stock walls...thats sort of a secondary goal.

i will be building another engine very soon to compensate in case something might happen...but i dont think that will happen. im not going to run high psi's on the streets...

street whp will be around 550...i just want a 700whp map just to say i hit the number

Did you ever consider a stroker and do you care to shed any more details about the backup motor?

besides this build i am actually getting underway on two engine builds...one for my fiancees ZR with a vortech supercharger kit, and then my back up...

which yes will be sleeved and stroked.
it will be dropped in my Z when it is complete.

Huge props for going all the way with your build(s) but is there any underlying reason that you are building two motors for your Z, and not just the one stroked/sleeved motor? I'm not sure I understand.

goals jamez...goals...

i want to see what i can do with stock cylinders...
and plus every car ive ever had ive had a back up motor ready to install just in case...if the stroked motor happens to give out on me, ill have the motor im building now as my back up...just so my car is never down for more then a few days or week or so...

i always have a back up

Wow. Good luck on that one, looks like a hell of a project. I like installing/saving for one thing at a time & seeing the results of each mod. I guess if I had the money I'd do it like you guys in Bragg city. j/k I'd have to agree with Doug's point though.
Anyways, I'm sure there will be an array of parts you will want to consider in addition to your build that you are overlooking. Just a few more I would consider:
Brakes & SS braided lines (you're all GO, no STOP
R compound tires (315's )
Upgrade your LSD
Window switch for n2o (some kits include)
IC sprayer installed as your purge
actuator springs (my APS kit needed new ones, I'm not sure about Greddy)
head strengthening kit (sounded like a good idea for cheap, so I got it)
Cooling mod from Sharif
Definitely more but I wont waste my time.
Just my .02

Wes

hey wes...i have the oem brembos...with upgraded lines and pads...i will be getting newer rotors down the road... but the 4pt brembos will serve me jsut fine for now.

as far as the lsd is concerend...i considered this...but since im not drifting this thing i am not too worried to get it bought right away, but it will be bought down the road.

one thing i am considering right now is level 5 driveshafts from the driveshaft shop for when i track it.

Just noticed you are getting the Zex kit(which I went with), you will need a ton of goodies for that.
MMMMmmm drive shafts, yes.
Oil catch can
I wouldn't know how well the stock LSD works. I have the 5AT & that open diff would/used to peel out swaying left & right. Scary ****. Yeah, now I have the KAAZ diff.
Port those heads.
Fixed

Good luck with that.... APS spools slower than the greddy? I'm not sure about that. Take a look at my graphs.
