What would be the point? If its running good and holding up I would just leave it be. If something would happen then get someone to check it out.

Nothing you can do to JT, the shop is no more and I could not get a attorney to do anything because the shop had closed down. If you can get a attorney that will take your case please let me know. I wish I could get some money back, even just some money to cover the paint job he owes me.

This does make me wonder how JT sold the built block from my car, wonder if he pawned it off on someone as a new motor and kept the rest of the money

What's the point? Are you serious?

The point is to fix whatever imperfection the motor has before it blows up. If I had done this six months ago, I would have known that JT fuked with the stock oil pump rather than install the revup pump (Which eventually led to oil starvation and my crank cracking).

I wouldn't be surprised if he did the same thing to all the blocks he built.

Japtrix/HP Logic use to be the same shop. They just split and went separate ways. Roger-Japtrix has always done me/my car right.

So if your car was running fine and had nothing wrong (motor wise) you would drop 2-$4,000 just to make sure everything is ok? Not sure what the rates are, but unless you pulled everything out yourself and then reinstalled it yourself thats alot of money just to see if something may be wrong. I mean how much is a built block these days, $4-$5000

jzurita,i took a look at your '07 motor and that vid is of an engine that was run,you don't get material against the pickup screen without oil pressure.the oil itself is too dirty to be fresh as well.

forget the dirty ports/carbon,they can be argued about on a rebuild (depending on who did the work).something is fishy for sure and i wouldn't rule out "the shop's" responsibility in that snafu.

either it was run after a rebuild and hurt or was never rebuilt in the first place.this leaves more questions than answers and i would not call it a smoking gun.

i never did business with jt and have no horse in this race.my only comment is that i feel bad for coachk,he's one of the finest people on this forum and is being damaged with guilt by association.

I also feel bad for coachk and the negative impact this may have on his business.

+1 on all of this. Something went drastically wrong with the first motor, but you may never know what really happened. When my teardown was done after 1K miles Jim Justice said the motor looked like it had 100K on it due to the lack of oil and I know all the parts I paid for were in the motor.

What's the point? Are you serious?

This is just a lose/lose situation. Pay now and possibly spend $$$$ on nothing, or pay later when you lose everything if the bearings go through the motor. I did this with the built motor I bought in the classifieds, complete teardown to find out I bought a turd, rebuilt the motor and it still failed.

My advice is the single shop theroy that I ignored at my own peril. Even if the shop you choose can't do it all (like machining), let them outsource the things they can't do and make sure they are responsible for the work done by other vendors and PUT IT ALL IN WRITING.

I am certain that I will build another project car on this platform in the coming years and I will do things very differently from how I did them this time. Now post that new teardown vid already!!

i know you've been good with regards to coach throughout this, but sadly jt and coach are connected at the wallet now.

even if jt weathers this storm, coach's new enterprise will still suffer.....maybe i'll build a couple motors for him....

Well, I am wondering about the other 25 or so motors JT has built. Why are they all still running? Its easy to pick on the guy who doesn't defend himself on the boards. All the proof here is from "shops" who are complete competition from him.

All this to be said and I hate him because he tried to pick up my girlfriend one night when we were all hanging out. What a dick? I mean, if he did something shady then I would crucify him, but everyone deserves a fair chance.

Hmmmm....So you are calling JZ a liar...I think you need to read this thread again....Last time I checked...JZ was a customer of JT ...not a shop owner
