Recorded a vid yesterday. The tear down will begin some time next week.

You can't really tell by the vid, but it's ridiculously loud! Next week a few buddies of mine are going to give it a full diagnostic. I've been kinda dragging my feet on this thing until now.
I'm hoping some answers will come up. I'm also hoping that there won't be any surprises.

Oh don't worry, the video captures quite a lot of noise...metal hitting metal, or at least banging against metal with no lubrication at all. Did you look at the oil yet? Any metal? Maybe piston ring metal fragments, or bearing metal shavings? Just speculating, won't know until you dissect it. Please make sure to photo document every step, or else...Well as I am sure you know. Nothing in the FI world is guaranteed. (Except Cass's build) Just kidding, no really I'm not...LOL.
Will you crack that thing open and let us know what the hell went wrong already!!!
The suspense is killing me!

Its cranking so it has oil in it medic.
It sounds like the compression is very low and with that metal sound my guess is rod knock. Maybe a bad rod bearing.
Sorry to hear this after only 5k miles....

Just because it turns doesn't mean oil is being pumped anywhere. Do u have any oil pressure?
The motor sounds hollow, probably because its dry from lack of oil delivery.
The oil could be sitting in a puddle at the bottom of the oil pan. We are just guessing until it comes apart. I hope its not a major problem, but since when is opening up and rebuilding a motor easy?
Good luck John.

That was probably Joe's motor. My car is still rotting in Stamford.
