what if say one was aiming for 550whp in a 5at.. will a VB upgrade be enough for the 5at to put that power down? what other upgrades will the 5at need for that kind of power (besides a cooler)?

^^ Put a temp gauge on there and a really big cooler. Keep temps below 240 deg F and change ATF every 6k and I think your 5AT will last with the VB a good long while. Obviously if you do a full trans rebuild, it will last longer, but why not wait till it fails, then do the full rebuild. Nothing lost... My GTM-5AT has been doing great, but knowing what I know now, I would go this route. Just plan on rebuilding at some point. I don't expect my GTM-5AT to last forever at 500 wtq either but going on 2 yrs, so far so good.
