Talking Hill's Garage: Momentum Performance Turbo Kit (FIRST!)

NOTE: THIS THREAD IS NOT TO ADVERTISE OR ENDORSE ANY SHOP OR PRODUCT MENTIONED. THIS IS STRICTLY MY OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES.

Hey guys, my names mark i have a 2005 350z with 102k miles on it and im starting my build thread for one of the most complete turbo kits i have seen to date for the 350z. My Momentum Performance kit was ordered today from Hill's garage and i decided to create a thread explaining my thoughts on the kit, my experience at the shop, and of course add pictures and opinions on the way to bring you guys a little more information on a pretty new kit.

My goal is just like any normal person, deacent power on a reliable setup. With the high mileage block we are going to see how safe this kit can be on stock boost (8psi).

This kit is basically brand new hitting the streets this year(i believe) to be sold. After seeing some of the deals going around, i had contacted Hill's Garage to see if they had a similar deal to offer for install. I was reffered to by SEVERAL people to go to this local shop (some forum members were cass007, atomicgoofball, jeffie, and a few other friends) due to their "overall great service," and "constant customer interaction." Even though they are a relatively new to their business, Frank Hill has been around nissan's for several years. His shop now specializes in nissans, and to be more specific VQ35's (Z/G's). My first time meeting frank he was very respectful and couldn't WAIT to start this kit after hearing so much about it. He completely stopped what he was working on to spend time going over a time line, estimate, and to see my concerns and questions through.

I saw the crinkle wrap version of the kit earlier today (6/29) and it was packed with extrem care. EVERYTHING in the kit was labeled and tagged with what it was. Each part of the turbo was sectioned off according to where it went. It came with directions but also warning's and directions SPECIFIC to detrimental parts of the kit (to be more specific, the wastegate box (which includeds all needed parts in the smaller box) came with a warning on how NOT to install the wastegate, and than a pictured and detailed direction on how to CORRECTLY install.) It also came with ALL the brackets needed to install and re-route things INCLUDED. I literally fell in love with the kit as it sat in its box, and truely believe Momentum went above and beyond in creating this kit to bring the most potential and complete kit on the market.

So i will continue to add to this thread over the course of a few weeks with pictures and comments and a follow up of everything i go through on this build i hope you guys subscribe and ask questions also so we can really go through and see what this kit can do.

All i have for a teaser right now is a picture of the Garrett GT35R with TiAL 1.03 A/R stainless v-band housing

UPDATE!

The kit has arrived today!!!, i have tons of pictures taken, and more to come later tonight of the polished version of this kit

Install should be comming soon( hopefully a week or two till start), and pictures as they go along will be taken!

Sounds like a great start. Hope you have a blast and enjoy the car!

I have to know, though, what's the little green guy working over the back of that guys foot mean in your signature block? He looks happy...

i would like to reserve pricing at this point, i WILL get back on that topic but not at this time in the start of the build, very sorry i mainly don't want to jinx myself lol

as for supporting mods i will only include things NOT included in the kit (i.e. fuel pump, injectors, uprev.. etc.)
- Kinetix Velocity Intake Manifold (the re-done SSV)
- I WILL be running dual exhaust, frank will be fabbing a reverse Y-pipe my exaust is the HKS - true dual
- I WILL be also keeping my Unorthodox crank pulley(non underdrive) i have spoken with momentum and they had said they see NO REASON why i should not keep this pulley on, and that it will NOT tear up belts/worse things.

Later in my build i will do engine and trans upgrades, than end with only stage 2 axels.

THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT!! glad the mid-atlantic is comming back with some power! if you ever want to come up shoot me a PM!

WTFFF! lol, well with my reverse Y-pipe im expecting it to cause restriction and there fore a littlebit of a loss, but it was better than going through and finding a new exhaust that i liked and blah blah blah lol, but yes, that's what it will look like essentially

More than likely next week. I was there about 10-11pm last night and the red G hadn't been dropped off, and the plan was to get started next week (but Frank was considering getting started Tonight possibly). The kit itself is there, though.

yes i saw that kit, REALLY almost made me switch for the 100th time and buy crinkle wrap, but it just wouldn't look right with the manifold.

Yes that is steve's car, they unboxed all five boxes when I was up there today, i'm very envious since i opted NOT to have my greddy kit jet coated while the motor was out of the car, i'm thinking VERY HARD that i probably should have after seeing the momentum kit
