Took her out yesterday to look at some 300ZXs around the area... Ever since I sold my 6MT Roadster I've been craving to drive a standard again. Decided I'm going to buy another car that I can play around with - straight cash. I looked at a white 1994 non-turbo 300ZX t-top for around $4k with 129,000 miles. Minor body issues but it drives great. Going back to check it out again tonight... Anything I should look out for?

Drove it to foxwoods resort and casino, gave them my new sway bars and then drove home many hours later...

Hoping to finish up the wrap soon. Aerosync bumper was SUPER rough so its taking me awhile to fill/sand/primer/sand-repeat x10. Got it pretty smooth now, one more wet sand then I'll attempt it. I've done the whole thing by myself so far, but the bumpers look like they will be a nightmare

Well I decided to start and warm up and take my Z around the block before work this morning...

Covered in dirt from light rain and wind. I decided while it was warming up I should get a cup of water and wiper the front windshield of dirt. (Front ends still off no window fluid). Cars still on, I close my door to not get water inside the door when it wipes.

Put the cup down and realize FML!!! My keys are in, my stupid handle is broken and my car is on with the keys inside...

I have no rad fans so my car is going to over heat in maybe all of 5 min... Im scrambling trying to figure a way to shut it off and then figure out how to break into my car before my engine blows...

disconnect the battery.. God dam FML alternator -____-

Scrambling, scrambling... Ill choke it! Stuff a towel into the intake box...... Dam thing is still going for 3 min.. Ok fk... fk... fk.... By this point its been running for 6 7 8 min...

Ok Ill take off the intake box and chose the long tube to choke off. Take it off and chokes by too much air.......

Worst 10 min of my life. Then took another 10 to find a dam dry cleaners hanger to hook the door handle and let my dumb a** back in.

Oil change 4 qts. Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w30, 1 qt. Polydyn tx7 (been using it since car was broken in). Removed front bumper cover, cleaned the air filter even though it looked clean haha! Took advantage of it all off to inspect this and that under the car and even shined up the zspeed undershroud (makes the car faster!).

* I had added a new magnetic drain plug last time; I was glad to see that after 3K miles there was zero metal particles on the magnet.

Bought a 6 pk. of qts. of Torco Accelerator (Race fuel concentrate) that I like; 1 qt. per 20 gal. fuel mixes into basically a +4 octane. I have 91 oct. in this state and I think that the Torco product is very good and I like knowing that each tank I have is better overall fuel. The car is ready to roll.

Not going to win any shows but we will see how it looks in a week after I can wet sand it.

Not like the car stays clean long enough to matter at this point anyways

O I painted it with... Wait for it

Crustolyum gloss black engine paint...

Its a temporary fix so I can still drive around and not look completely messed up.. The lines that look like wrap are from masking tape... Next week ill wet sand it and put a gloss black 3m band aid over it untill I get around to touching up all my messed up parts at the same time with legitimate super black from painttouchup...

I have little messed up wrap covered sections on more than one spot on my car

But hey its a project fun car that I still drive so whatever im not bringing it to barret Jackson anytime soon..

For prep I sanded the back side with 60 grit... Put fiberglass resin and 3-4 strips of fiberglass..(as many as I could before it hardened) waited 2 hours.. Sanded around hole to bare metal bondo filled it even, sanded primed paint...

Goodbye antenna from 1971.

Took the Z out for a short ride today for the first time since installing R1 Concept brake and rotors on it 3 weeks ago. I took her up to triple digits for a little while and I must say that as an 03 with 161k, she still runs great.

...and before anyone talks about how unsafe that is on public roads, you can only wish that you lived in Germany and have the ability to do it legally.

See, I guess I'm not OCD or that picky about my cars.... I don't get the antenna (or rear wiper for that matter) delete thing. I guess if I cared about such things, I'd understand..... but I use both so, uh, why?

Now, if someone showed me a wind tunnel test that proved that removal of both dropped my cd by .01, I might consider it... Laff....

Not dissin', just sayin'... I be clueless or sumpin'....
