Figgered you'd pick up the swag from Greg (whitetrack). Saw those sway bars and thought, "Dayam, I got a whole buncha cars and none those bars will fit!!" $150..... stolen!
Veilside lip at an EZ lip price... I was so excited I didn't even eat dinner before I picked them up.
Thanks ill look into that... I still have my hatch, my antenna area, and a front bumper I need to finish up...
Actually I have a lot of areas that need attention haha
What spray paint did you use? I got a qt of super black laying around, but I usually just rattle can everything and then find trouble spots sand it off and redo it.
You can get that hood to look like a mirror if you finish the process. Depending on what you started with on sandpaper.
My process is wetsand with 1500, 2000 and end with 3000 and keep the paper wet and paint went. A few sprays of Clay bar lube too. Just use a DA or the 3 inch drill attachments. The attachments can be had cheap as dirt. After wetsanding you need to remove the wetsand marks. This is when you use a cutting compound and Meguire microfiber cutting pad, it's white. A stronger compound will remove 1500 grit Mark's if you didn't use 2000-3000 grit. Meguiars Ultimate Compound will remove the 2000-3000 grit marks. Than after marks are done, you will have marring left. Now it's time to use a polish with some in it like Meguiars ultimate polish and a polishing pad, black is usually the color of the pad. This removes the marks from the compound. Now look at your work. Is the paint shining like a diamond. If it's close use a glaze to make it look a tad better or on to wax. Wax only when the paint is done and you are ready to seal it. They make various compounds depending on how much oxidation, a deep a grit sandpaper you went with. The wetsand, compound, polish, sealant is the proper steps for shiny paint. Once you get some practice in you can make a brand new off the lot car lot look even better.
Pm me if you need to know anything else or questions. With some type of power tool, you can do a whole car in a full day or 2-3 days for a show car finish. Anyone can do it. Just gotta have the products and not skimped out thinking one compound and one polish is gonna do it
Well yesterday I decided to do my spark plugs, pull the intake plenum for new gaskets, at the TB too with some rtv. My fuel trims were all jacked. I was hitting +25% on STFT and LTFM at idle and hardly ever seeing zero. I did my valve cover gaskets about 8 months ago so I new I didn't have leaks anywhere. So I figured if I'm doing plugs I might as well rtv everywhere just in case with new gaskets. I also capped off both lines for the TB Coolant hoses. Which worries me. I have 4 plugs on the TB Coolant connections and 2 plugs where I deleted the front crossover pipe. Starting to see some wear on the crossover plugs I used from Advance after about 5-6 months. The thing about Platinum plugs is I noticed they can go to fill **** and still keep the car running. I wasn't experiencing any idle issues, no codes or misfires. The change with the new plugs brought my fuel trims back to normal. I may have had a tiny intake leak I couldn't smoke out but 02 sensors are reading 0 to .85-.90 and my car has never ran better. I only have 8K miles on this car since I purchased it so every time I touch something it's a mystery to me what I'm gonna find. It's crazy how much warn out plugs can change every thing with car with no idle issues or signs of bad plugs.
Despite the good news, everything went wrong working on the car. Lost one of the screws for the coil pack. Took forever to find it. I don't have a garage so I was getting pounded with a 105 degree heat index. A random out of nowhere thunder storm came and I had to pack up everything. One of my spark plugs on the front driver side was drenched in oil . I don't know why because the spark plug tube was dry and clean as can be. I put some rtv inside from the surface where oil could drop down. Im gonna be pissed if I have to pull the valve covers for the second time in less than a year. I'll keep an eye on it. Is it possible to get oil on a plug from the bottom, anyway for it to pass by that way rather than the spark plug seals on the valve cover? Found a split in my air intake coupler as soon as I picked it up. Other than that, it's always a good feeling to make your car run better and not pay some sleezeball franchise shop $800 for a few hours of work.

I dont think any way it's coming in from the bottom
Here is a pic from when I ripped apart a VQ... Those tubes are pretty much built into the heads if I remember correctly... I would go confirm but the heads are burried in a tote wrapped in a bunch of trash bags.
Try a heat gun and razor blades. A little tedious but I think it works better than any fiberglass paint stripper/remover.
I'd avoid a razor if the part's plastic (unless you have a love for Bondo.) Aslo, if it's a plastic part, heat it too much and you're going to warp the part. Heat and fiberglass should be fine though.
Sanding blocks or a gentle sanding using a power or air sander along with maybe 200 grit sandpaper and working your way up to 800 or even 1200 grit before priming it is your best bet. Whatever you do, it's going to take time to do it right. Don't rush the job.
Yeah - should've clarified. You don't want to go digging into it with the razor blade. It's really more to lift up the paint as it flakes up with the heat. You might be able to get by with a scraper or drywall mud knife. I think the Veilside lip is FRP so you don't want to lay the heat on for too long.
Ill keep you posted... Gotta mow the lawn tomorrow and maybe work on some other things... It's hot and muggy this week but maybe I'll get some sanding in.

Thanks, Im gonna pull that one plug here in a day or so and confirm.
On a side note, I found 100% 93 octane today at a mom and pop service gas station with Mystik by Citgo brand on it. So I'm happier than a pig in ****. We shouldn't be forced into E10 gas if we don't want to be. 93 pure gas is like gold in 2017. Love it. My fuel trims look better than ever with the pure 93 gas and new plugs. Sitting as close to zero as ever cruising with no load but cost 30 cents more than 93 E10. Paid $3.07 a gallon which is alot here
