for months this dang red oil light kept flashing in my dash.but the z was running fine. the needle of my oil pressure extremely low, hmm thats odd, i checked for any leaks and everything was fine. i did a little research and it turns out my oil pressure sensor went bad. no biggie, i visited my local nissan stealership and damn $80 .[ i took out the old sensor and screwed on the new one. as i inspected the old sensor i noticed something strange. the old sensor was only screwed on half way. geeee maybe that is why it was reading low oil pressure? hmm let me screw this thing a little more. i get my wrench and and i get at it until the thread is fully in. i turn my z on to check if the light went off. it went off alright but there was oil gushing from where the sensor was. what a disaster!

+it turned out the i cracked my upper oil pan...
wtf? how?
turns out that the geniuses at nissan designed the bolt of the sensor in a slight taper thats not even visible to the naked eye. i called my z buddy that has a shop close by and asked him how back the damage was. he chuckled and told me that the same has had happened to him and he has to lift the whole engine off the chasing to be able to do the job. FML live and learn huh? well i bit the bullet and got my clutch and concentric slave cylinder replaced as well.
original clutch 85k miles
new jwt clutch with light weight flywheel and ss line
the guy told me my engine is a clean as a whistle (mobil 1 ftw)
all sealed and done
im glad this nightmare is over now off to z cruising and break in the clutch

man I'm really sorry to hear about your trouble .....but to be honest this isn't the first time I heard about this happening! it's really strange that so many different people are running into the same problem while replacing the oil pressure sensor???? anyway thank god that it was a "simple" fix at least.....oh and nice engine bay pics

whats up my z fam, its been a couple months since ive logged in to check up on yall. well my z has had a couple of upgrades ever since. some of you guys follow me on social media so its no surprise. .
so after having too much fun with my new clutch install i started to look for some summer tires. i raked my hair finding the right tire size after with some trial and error with discounttiresdotcom i finally went with 285/35/19r 265/35/18 rubber with 15mm rear and 10mm front spacers. im really glad how the ride sits now. i dialed my dampening and height in my suspension, boy this little z feels much planted now.
at first i picked up 255/35/18f but the wheel gap was too much and the tire wall too short.
I also did some upgrades to the oem brembos. I got a really nice deal on some fresh brembos and matched it with stoptech ss lines, rotors, and pads. What a difference from the toasty og brembos.
Got the z ready just in time for 4th of july weekend. so i decided to take the wifey and the mistress for a road trip. what better road trip than to go to Atlanta ehh? oh what a coincidence Z1 motorsports is just minutes away.
might as well use that uprev tuner ive had in my cubby for years.
everyone there was so nice, there was z goodies in every corner of the shop. i sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. whats this? oh my favorite show.

while john was throwing some nissan sprinkles on my engine. my buddy Vj stopped by with his wicked nismo. i swear his z is sooooo nice. the thing was so mint and he had some of the best parts that dont even exist for the z33.
i think vj's nismo had a jdm bug that bit my a$$ while i was in ATL.
because i just joined the Matchless crowd racing bandwagon

so this is my last acquisition for the year, wink wink yeah guys i think i have a problem lol. c'mon who can resist these rare Recaros hmmmm?
Special delivery!
the seats bolted right in after wrestling with them for a bit. The 350z seats align into place by the help on a metal spike that inserts into the 350z seats; however, the 370z does things backwards... my only solution was hulk smash!! i busted all existing spikes and presto! problem solved. now all the plugs work for the airbag and sensor. The z looks and feels amazing, with all the upgrades is smells like new again and it feels like an exotic car. the new seats adjust way lower than the 350 seats so its great for the 6ft+ dudes like me. i gotta thank the unfortunate soul who smashed their 25k miles 2016 nismo.
The 350z seat
VS
370z seat
FYI i was disappointing at nissan to make a racing seat for a newer car that weight the same 50lbs as the electrical touring 350z seats
350z seats
my next project is gonna be during the holidays, ill be tearing down the whole interior to wire the oem navi. wish me luck!
