Turtle wax headlight restoration kit, comes with oxidation removing compound, sanding/polishing pads, base and sealer. Cost $9.00 at advanced auto. Just uses purple power for engine bay, still more to do but i got cold and water kept freezing lol.
Holy hell. That's a good price for all of that. I paid $20 for my Mother's kit, and it was on clearance .. I'll have to give Turtle Wax a try next time. I always used their products growing up. Always great results.. Yeah, Purple Power is pretty good. It's like Simple Green.. Hahaha, So you were out there too hosing away in this weather? So was I. I washed the Z the other day(including the undercarriage) in my driveway after that last snow we had. By the time I was finished the whole driveway was a sheet of ice.. My neighbors probably think I'm crazy.

Not what *I* did to my Z33 today, what someone else did.... got waaaayy too close to it either pulling into the red zone in front of my house or backing into space behind me. 1 foot x 1.5 foot paint scrape and light dent on driver door. I have my suspicions who.... waiting for them to pull up as they always do so I can look at their bumpers.
F'ers..... no note, of course. Again, gotta get off this street! And I'm trying but nothing in a reasonable price/condition bracket selling. Ehhhhhh....
Which car? Your '03?.. That really sux. Right before Christmas, too. People, man. I'm tellin' ya'.

Thanks guys, but while I'm bishin', it's not about garnering sympathy. Just a rant but thanks for commiseration just the same. Hahahaha.
First light view....
Kinda helpin' me decide what to do..... my front and rear bumpers were needing some attention along with the plastic-ish trim (A-pillar and over door) fading. Guess I'll be shootin' the whole car now.
Not sure if I believe in "karma" per se and I'm not *generally* vindictive; but I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope the bad reflects back tenfold.
I registered and uploaded all the updates and apps I wanted for my new Autel MaxiSys MS906BT diagnostic scanner. I was playing around with some of the bidirectional functions on the tool and was pretty shocked at the active tests and parameters you're allowed to manipulate using this device.
Apparently, I can change the speed limiter on the car. I'm not going to change it, but does anyone know off the top of their head what the speed limiter is set to and what the MT gearing would roughly allow for if you're using the proper tires? I'm only curious.
I'm pretty psyched about how much better this is than the old Autoenginuity software I was using on my single-core dedicated car laptop before. Also, the new four-channel oscilloscope with the six-core processor is leap years better than what I've been using. It also came with a very nice borescope, which I tested up my nose so that I could explain to my wife how it worked.
Everything's set up to be very intuitive. I'm going to change out my wife's CVT fluid on her Rogue this weekend and the tool lets me reset the CVT fluid sensor to zero (which you need to do to keep the car from thinking it's running on sludge.)
Wow. That's worse that I thought, Mic... Could be worse though. Sucks you gotta' look directly at it now every time you get in your car.. I would need a hug after that.. and a valium.
That really does suck Mic. Sorry man. This is pretty much the reason I don't have more cars...I've got 2 in the garage and 2 on the driveway....I won't put any on the street because of smack like this..especially in my neighborhood. But yeah...might as well get a full respray if you feel like other areas on the car could use it too. Turn a negative into a positive and all that.
Fixed my driver door speaker. Quit working about a year ago. PO installed pioneer speakers and the connectors were loose. Speaker is crackling arms needs replacement so I'll probably order some new ones soon if I can't find a single replacement.
Doing plugs and belts soon. Need to finish bushings. Got exhaust fixed as well. Still love driving this car!
Carbon wrap doors? Or is that played out these days?

Thanks for all the kind words, guys (re: the damm damaged door ).
It is what it is I guess. That's what insurance is for. Already paid out.
I polished off all the paint and crap left by the offending whackjob and it's no better. The skin/panel is pushed in to the inner door frame.
My body guy - same one who did the expert color matches on my Shiro and other work (and who I trust implicitly) - will take care of the door and bumpers for roughly the amount of the insurance settlement. So, that's all she wrote.
Was thinkin' maybe it's an omen and that it's time to Rabbit Bunny the car. (sic) But then, ehhhh, no thanks, I like stock appearance. As far as "carbon wrap", nope... I don't believe in the appearance of CF if I'm not actually benefiting from the weight savings or strength of CF so...
