Default Kinetix SSV Install Pics

Kinetix -- if you guys want to use these for directions, please, be my guest

So, I received my Kinetix SSV Manifold the other day, and was hoping that I could wait to install it until after I had gotten a baseline dyno... WRONG

Install took approx. 2 hours. I only had to backtrack a couple times:

Once when one of the allen-head screws didn't thread correctly into the top of the engine, so I had to take everything off and thread it properly with a rachet a couple times to "loosen" it

The other time I had to backtrack was when I couldn't get the EVAP sensor all plugged back up while the manifold was installed (i don't have tiny hands) -- so undid the six screws and two nuts and fixed the EVAP unit up and resumed.

Beginning the disassembly:

Taking the old upper plenum off was straightforward (not to mention, Crawford included very detailed directions!)

Close up shot of the hose coupler:

figured that I would include a shot of the coupler, as I put it on there right after I finished taking the throttlebody off (before I took the upper plenum off)

Old plenum is half way gone:

Pic is self-explanatory.

Old plenum is gone:

Pretty cool -- crazy-colored fuel rails

Close up shot of the passenger side fuel jobbie:

Wanted to get a close up shot of this thing so people know exactly what they're looking for -- make sure you get this guy all put together (and hooked to the EVAP unit) BEFORE you put the manifold on the engine (you'll have to rest the manifold on the engine while you're doing it, because the EVAP unit should already be attached to the manifold by this point )

Close up shot of the EVAP unit:

The directions say that this is a 14mm hex nut... mine was a 12mm, don't know what the "standard" is, but you might want to have a couple wrenches around when you're doing this

Pic of the EVAP unit mounted on the manifold:

Remember, it goes on UPSIDE DOWN

EVAP unit on the manifold, and in position

It's TIGHT back there, i had to put the manifold in at an angle and wiggle it (very, very carefully, you don't want the three allenhead screws that are balancing in the passenger side holes to fall into the engine... that would be BAD™)

To be continued

Probably the best place to host images is Image Shack (http://www.imageshack.us/). It's free, automatically creates thumbnails, allows direct linking, and they even create all of the code you need to link to the images/thumbnails. Hope that helps.

I too am looking at buying that manifold and would love to see the install pictures.

Thanks. Do you have to take the strut bar off to do this or can you sneak it under there without removing it?

i took the strut bar off... it'd be pretty darn hard if you didn't (especially with all the allen-head screws / tubes)... only takes 5 mins. (if you've got a breaker-bar )

Machupo-my strut bar rubbed the manifold under hard turning and accellerating when the vehicle got to operating temperture so I had to shim it, did you have that problem?
