maybe porsche will step up their game now and give you a little more juice for the ridiculous price of the cayman.

This is old news. They have been saying this since the inception of the 370z. I think its aiming low as the current 350 based Nismo Z already beat the Cayman S by over a second at Tskuba if memory serves. I would have like to see them go after the GT3 with a Nismo 370z. The GT3 is not in league with the GTR as the GTR just owns it. So why not let the 370 take it on with the 400hp Nismo motor. Ah just wishful thinking. Id pay 40k for such a Z.

I agree, however, I'd put it against the C6.......Perfect benchmark.

nah nissans bencharmarks with the Z and GTR were always porshe, design cues etc , i agreee GT3 would be the natural benchmark, even current Zs NA modified can give a stock caymen a run for its money..the caymen is really all about handeling and weight moreso then powe.r

patiently waiting for the great reveal...

I already hang w/ caymens @ local Autox...there's 3 that were @ the last one. a friend w/ a slightly modded 03 Z took the win. I was within a very small margin of 2 of them....but they beat me...damn my stock/automatic.

the regular 350z beats the regular Cayman in tests. Its the Cayman S thats faster than teh regular 350z but slower than the Nismo 350z.

Just to clarify my thinking.

1. GTR/Vspec will do battle with the Turbo Porsches GT2/TT respectively.

2. 370z/Nismo Z does battle with the na Carreras/GT3 respectively.

3. The new rwd entry level coupe they are talking about[Silvia/240 replacement]? does battle with the Cayman/Cayman S.

Nissan would be terminal cancer on Porsches anus with that scenario. Wishful thinking

About as appetizing as the GTR is to Porsche at the moment Right now its treatable as Nissan is only attacking one or two Porsche models. TT & GT2.

Why would you put it agains the c6?

C6: 400hp/400tq weight: 3245
370z: 335hp/268tq weight 3400 lbs

How can you compare that? Thats not even the 2008 C6 which has the upgraded ls3..
