I have the KW variant 3s coilovers which are absolutely very good quality and performance and i'm hooked but want to go for the true rear coilover setup.

I saw this pic on Jason's informative thread and was just wondering if KW make a true rear coilover for the 350z? look so



If there is no such system for the 350z i would like to upgrade my var 3 front and rear springs to linear springs as opposed to progressive KW OEM ones. I figure it should not be a problem if i get the sizes(height/diameters) right and specify the same max spring rate as the original. The damper should be able to handle it right?

For the rear i would go for the 2.5" ID spring so it can fit the SPL midlink to give me the next best solution to the true rear coil setup.

I will be calling or emailing KW do see if the can provide these or go with swift springs.

In effect i will be upgrading my Var 3 s to clubsport

Any thoughts on this or any pitfalls i have missed?

 

Im pretty sure the kw clubsport is a true coilover

 

the shocks are valved for their intended progressive spring rate. I wouldn't mess with linear springs because then you'd have to get the struts re-valved. At that point, might as well purchase "true style" club sports because of all of the R and D that went into them would surely surpass the common enthusiasts' know how.

 

unless they switched their design. the club sport still have the spring bucket.
