Default Colgan Original Bra w/ pics

So I just put this bra on and I love it. I looked around this website at info regarding black bras and the 3M clearbra. The cost was too high for the clearbra and I like the llok of the black bra on my CS Enthusiast. I purchased it from some website for around $95 shipped. Don;t buy it direct from Colgan cause they charge much more-one of their salespeople gave the 800 number of one of their vendors that sold it for less. Hope you like the pics...

I forgot to mention how easy the install was-less than 20 minutes once I threw the directions away and just figured it out on my own...

Nice looking Bra...

I think I might get claustrophobic in that garage though ..

Default Colgan Bra

I have the Nissan bra on my DB Touring and I too think it looks alright. My husband and I received it as a Christmas gift. I ordered the Colgan Bra and it should be here any day now.

It's nice to hear others' opinions that the classic bra is not all that bad. I think that the clear bra is to expensive as well.

You're not worried about it scratching the paint? I have super black so I would consider it since it would be as noticable, but I'm too afraid of having it sratch the paint. I'd rather spend the extra $300 and get a clear bra done.

I'm not worred about it scratching the paint at all. If it is properly taken care of, scratches shouldn't be a problem.

My husband is in charge of taking care of our cars and he is as **** as they come! He had a bra on his blue camaro for years with no problems at all. The Nissan bra has a nice tight fit.

I just can't justify putting a big "sticker" on my new, blue Z.

I would get nervous and run out to take it off everytime it rains. The rain here in NY can be pretty dirty.

I know what you're saying about putting a sticker on your car. I didn't like the idea of it either until i did it to my first audi. It looked ok and when everyone else was getting more chips than a Lays factory (european paint SUCKS!!) I was looking lovely. Didn't do it to my next audi and within 2k I had a lovely dorito on my hood. This is my first new japanese car with a factory finish. How well do they hold up?

So far, the paint on my Z has 5 rock chips with less than 800 miles on it. IMO, the paint is very soft. We also have a 2002 Pathfinder but the paint on it seems to be ok.

So, I guess it comes down to your own personal preference, the black bra or paying a lot more for the clear bra. Both will do the job.

Can you post a picture with the hood raised?

I have the Nissan Nose Mask and have trouble getting the hood to shut because of the way it fits. I have been considering this product and would like to see how it attaches.

Thanks in advance!

I'll post pics tomorrow evening when I get my car back from the stereo installer. I'll admit, you need a bit more force close the hood with the bra because of the extra material between then hood and latch. I don't beleive this has or will cause any probs. About scratching, the underside of the bra has a soft cotton liner. I have a coat of Zaino on the car. This combined with the soft underside now worriea about scratches. The only thing I may be concerned about is uneven paint fading over time... Not a prob right now though...

Default Nissan bra - not a bad investment

I have the Nissan bra on a C/S, and I think is look good. The Colgan bra has a extra hood piece not supplied with the Nissan bra. I have also seen side mirror covers, but not sure where to purchase these items seperately.

I think it would be great if somebody made the bra is the same colors shades as the car. It would then bend in with the car and be less noticeable.

You can usually pick those mirrior bra's up at any of the stores that carry Colgan front end bra. I chose not to use the mirror bra's thinking it'd look like crap. So I purcahsed the 3M kit for the mirrors only for about $25 shipped from xpel.com. Havn't put them on yet but planning on it this weekend. Will probably post pics and tips on the install. later...

I came across a guy out of Sacramento who paints bra's to match the color of cars. He was at PT cruiser show. He couldn't give me a price but was going to look into it.

Web site is www.second-look.com

I really don't like the look of those bra's. I would much rather prefer a few chips than a big black blanket on the front of my car.
Just personal preference I guess!

And what happens when/if you go to sell the car in a few years and the person buying doesn't like the bra, and you take it off and the paint has faded evenly all over the car besides the front end? It just doesn't add up to a positive thing to do, for me. Not to mention the possible scratches when dirt gets in behind the bra.

I would consider the 3M clear bra but agree with everyone that it is way to expensive.
