Annoying Squeak? Scraping noise? From the driver side
Hello everyone, so I’ve been trying to figure this out on my own and now I’m going to give up. I have this annoying squeaking or scraping noise coming from my driver side I believe. Here is a video of it
I replaced my wheel bearing thinking it would fix. Sound still there. I took off my brake caliper, bolted my rotor in place and spun it. No sound. So it’s not my dust shield. Put my brake caliper back on spun it again. Slight brush of my brake pads. But not the same exact sound I hear driving. I’m running out of ideas.
Anyone else had the same issue or other ideas they want to throw at me.
Thinking of going to the junk yard pick up some front rotors and try them out.
Much appreciated!

Did you just put on new wheels or recently had them balanced? I have heard a sound similar to when the stick on wheels weights just barely touch the caliper or sometimes even the dust shield as the wheel spins. It's easy to check so can't hurt to take a peek at it. Also recheck your dust shield with the wheel bolted on. When you have the wheel off it allows the rotor to push away from the hub on the side opposite the caliper and it may not rub then. So I'd check that as well if you haven't already.

Thank you guys for responding. I put on some new rotors and pads. I bent the dust shield a little back. It is still making the sound. Im just going to take it in now. Thank you again!

Swapped out with brand new control arms a while back. I took it to a mechanic. He thinks it could be the tire itself. I’m at the tire shop hoping to get a new one. The mechanic swapped the bad tire to the right side and the noise went to the right side. Swapped the bad tire again with the spare and the noise went away. So I’m praying it’s the tire. Fingers crossed won’t know till an hour
