Default Convertible top won’t open or close

Any help would be appreciated. Reviewed posts but really could not find an answer.

2006 350z convertible roadster-
(Did standard unlock, press break) When I attempt to open the top, clicking sound occurs, passenger door moves, windows roll down, then nothing else happens. Been suggested to check 1) switch, 2) hydraulic fluid and roof pump level but cannot find anything online where that is, how to fill it. 3) relays/fuse - where is the relay/fuses for the top? What numbers are they for the roof? 10 and 40? 4) 5th bow motor. Want to try less expensive things first. I need more than, “check this or that.” I need to know where they are. I don’t have a repair manual, nor can I find one online. I did replace the elastic straps.

I answered your question about the relays/fuses in one of the other multiple threads you've created on the same topic.

Thank you for the diagram of the fuse area. I can only assume the box is located in engine area in passenger side of car near battery. I also already looked at the other threads too and did not find answers to my other questions. SYing maybe it’s the relay, but I can’t find where that is at. I took it into 2 Nissan dealers, and the last one was comical. They guy could not have been more vague. Not knowing what the problem was, and him not having much experience, suggested I replace the entire top and components. I want to start small myself. I replaced the elastic straps, I want to replace the switch and fuses. What I don’t know, nor can I find in any thread, or online, is where to find the pump (and if it is broken) with the top hydraulic fluid and how to fill it. Are there sensors? Where are they? I want to replace those too. Are there convertible top relays? Did not find where they are or where to buy. Searched for hours. Then grease up the top joints. The last thing I will do, if all those things don’t work, is the expensive 5th now motor replacement. Yes I can get the part, but it is expensive. I looked specifically and extensively for those specific answers to my questions and did not find them.

The diagram attachment shows the locations for the soft top control unit location (under the tonneau). It also shows the locations of all the different switches and actuators that must be functioning correctly. There are quite a few.

I'm not sure what dealer told you to check the hydraulic fluid. There is no fluid. There is no pump. If you look at the pictures of the diagrams and motor locations, you will see that the motors are electric and similar to the window motors.

I have attached the RF section of the FSM here. As you will see, there are a lot of different conditions that must be met in order for the top to fully open and close.

I want to know why my convertible top won’t open or close and for that I am searching for the information online and I am glad I found your post. While searching for it online, I also found https://mitechnews.com/guest-columns...in-technology/ website where I found the technology research paper topics and I took interest in that website because I need a help regarding my essay assignment.
