Default Satus of Louisiana International Speedway in Kentwood LA?

Anyone in the Kentwood LA area know how much progress has been made on the construction of the new Louisiana International Speedway drag strip section? Everything Ive read says fall 2008, have they started any construction work?

The guy Jerry Lowrie that was the contractor was caught in fraud. There were lawsuits against him. After that, this was all thrown out the window.

Yeah, that thing fell apart not long after it was announced. There was an article published in the Advocate but it's no longer available online. this one still is:

DAM that was going to be closer to me than the other tracks. So what drag strip has the least crowded test and tune? State Capitol in BR, NPR, or Hub City in Hattiesbug? Is the Gulfport drag strip still open?

Test-n-Tune on Wednesday night at NPR is never packed. Usually when I go I can get 8-12 runs from about 10:00pm to 12:00am or so. Which isn't bad as long as there aren't really isn't any accidents, but there usually are.
