Wow.... So much stuff was blown up last night! Artillery shells are the best thing ever! Did everyone have a good 4th before the rain hit?
Hey Adam I keep forgetting to ask what your e-mail address is so I can send you those hood pics?

9 hours door to door yesterday... never saw a runner until I got on the last highway 20 mins from the apartment... an 03/04 Silverstone with a cut up hood, fiberglass bumper, homemade exhaust, and about 30 dings and scratches pulled next to me and we ran twice from 50 to 80... eh.
So.... speaking of...

I know I'm a huge p***y on drives, but seriously... kinda surprised you'd be down for that on Cantrell. I've never said anything about the other runs, but I dunno anywhere else, I wouldn't have much of an opinion on it I suppose.

serious? not really, just struck me as odd. Having seen your share of carnage on Cantrell, I'd think you had more respect for that road and others on it. Like I said tho, the other crazy **** you guys do is a constant source of amusement. You (and the others) have never really struck me as being all that dangerous to anyone but yourselves and I have no beef with that.

Example: "I spun a 180 in Brad's neighborhood because I didn't let my tires warm up."
Solution: 60 in a 25 through "that neighborhood" isn't giving the proper respect to the roadway and environment and puts more than just the driver at risk.
I've also said that there is a difference between safe driving and legal driving. Going 40 down Cantrell Hill in anything smaller than a pickup truck with proper equipment and safe tires/brakes during high visibility and low traffic is safe... albeit illegal.
Running a modified 350Z 100mph on an open 2 lane divided highway with good visibility is arguably "safe" for a short time... again illegal.
I won't judge their actions, I wasn't as guilty but I certainly wasn't innocent, but I kept it within what I knew were my "safe" boundries.

for the record, I wouldnt hesitate to take the passenger seat on the Dragon with you or Steve. I know you guys drive well and stay within your limits. Glad your drive was uneventful. I'm not really into judging anybody, just wanted to point out the lunacy of that on Cantrell. It's packed with horrible drivers that are constantly doing the unexpected, maybe not as much as University and Asher, but it still attracts its share of unpredictable freaks. In retrospect, 40 or 100 probably doesnt change your chances of an accident there, it's most likely not going to be your fault. Man... I hate Cantrell. So happy it's no longer part of my commute.

For the record, we were on Cantrell but there was no one around, and I was goosing Steve so he passed me. Now if there were folks around of course we wouldn't have acted like jackasses but seeing as we're all adults who aren't mouthbreating morons, it wasn't THAT big of a deal. Was it illegal? Yes. Was it unsafe? That's arguable. Was if fun? Yes.
Brad, nice Twiggy reference by the way.
