That black 350 at Lubys every friday and saturday night is mine... If any of you arkansas guys are into the racing scene then thats the place to be. As far as Zs in the area. My suggestion is to join the Arkansas Z car club. They meet once and month and some of them attend the war memorial autox events. I know im looking to start participate here in a few weeks. PM me if yall want to hangout and cruise with the guys. Its a bunch of fun.

I still have a low mileage VLSD 3.3 pumpkin laying around if anyone needs it. Flimsy said he wanted it months ago, but I havent heard back in quite some time. So, LMK if you are needing a fresh VLSD or just want a spare pumpkin to send off for upgrading to Nismo or Quaife.

I'm pretty sure it's VLSD such as this. except if its MT, those are 3.5 gears. This is 3.3 gears (AT). Fits regardless. Some people swap these into MT for torque, I believe it throws off the ODO though.

Default Shops in Little Rock Area

Hey guys, Are there any trustworthy shops in the Little Rock area that can do a clutch install? I'm in Hot Springs and I really don't trust the stealership here or any of the local shops either. Thanks

I took my Pathfinder to Ellis Infiniti because it was the only trustworthy shop I could find. I usually talked to Trey, a service manager.. and he would talk to Scotty, a very good Nissan tech that's been working on my G and PF for years. Since I was talking a Nissan to an Infiniti shop, they could negotiate rather than just stick you with book rate. And, I've also had the parts dept give me extremely reasonable prices, much lower than the LR Nissan dealers. Obviously their service and parts is there to make money, but not at the cost of losing customers... whereas, Nissan just doesnt care. Scotty will do some aftermarket stuff as I recall. Just about anything the dealership will allow. I'd just call and ask for Trey in service. tell him you're just looking for a trustworthy shop and ask for a quote. Can't hurt.

Anyone here decent at drifting or powersliding? Looking for a volunteer to drift/powerslide around one turn inside our parking deck downtown for a corporate video we're shooting.

If anyone's interested, PM me for details.

FWI, Arkansas Z Car Club members get a 20% discount on parts at North Point Nissan AND North Little Rock Nissan. There's no discount on service but most of us work on our own cars anyway.

That's nice of them... but I've been gouged WAY over 20% of LIST PRICE! at the NP counter before. It would take a substantial discount just to get the price down to the level that Ellis gives me on Nissan stuff (it may be list but its never over.. and usually under). Hell, I talked to salespeople who worked at NP that got screwed at their parts counter, even as employees. I havent been there in 2+ years (they wanted almost $40 for wiper blade refills, yes refills). Maybe things have changed.

I agree that $40.00 for refills is WAAAY over the top! I haven't witnessed anything like that in my dealings with them. I'm not saying it couldn't have occurred but if it did, that's very disappointing and unfortunate. Some of our members have had issues with the service departments of both dealerships but not with parts.

Like I mentioned before though, most of us work on our own cars anyway. In the end, any dealership you deal with is about profit. That's why they're in business. The thing to do is shop around for the best price on the particular part(s) you're looking for.

I've ordered parts recently from Courtesy Nissan in Texas (also an Arkansas Z Car Club sponsor). They have really good pricing on OEM and NISMO parts. Have you tried them?

honestly, I almost always order from Courtesy because of their diagrams/partnumbers. That's awesome. I hate standing there at the local parts counter with a part number and they still take 15 mins to look it up.

Pretty sure Nissan Parts, locally, is about extracting as much profit as possible. Asking me to pay more than list (which I know from checking Courtesy and other sources) is just insulting. I've never had the trouble at Ellis or even other Nissan dealers outside of LR, like Superior in Conway. I used to drive to Conway for all service. They were still always fighting Nissan to approve repairs, but they had a smaller town mentality and didn't treat you like crap. That was years ago though, unsure what they are like now. I do know they didn't act like the only game in town like the LR dealers have in the past. I'd love to year that they are running things differently now at the LR Nissan dealers. but given my experience on the lots while looking at the new Pathfinder (ugh), I doubt it.

I understand. I can't say I'd deal with someone who insulted my intelligence in the past either. It's rather unfortunate that you were treated that way.

I'm glad you were respected at Superior in Conway. When we approached them several years ago to be an AZCC sponsor the general manager quite frankly turned his nose up at us. That left a bad taste in my mouth and we haven't been back since to ask again.

Also, some of the part numbers you find at Courtesy Nissan ARE NOT the factory part numbers. The numbers are created by Courtesy for their own inventory tracking.

The local dealerships are more than likely using the Nissan factory part numbers which could explain why it takes so long. Don't get me wrong on this. I'm not condoning the treatment you received or the long wait time at the counter. I'm just trying to inform you on the process.
