we met *very* early on Thursday morning at the Protho Junction exit just to the east of Little Rock. Since people were coming from West LR, south of LR and Jacksonville, that just made sense.
Now that they are actually planning events on Thursday, some may want to leave earlier, like Wednesday. However, leaving at 6am, having lunch along the way, and maybe alittle traffic means arriving on the Dragon past dark. Which is no big deal, just alittle daunting for a noob like me. While Adam and DJ left us all mins behind (which on the dragon is just crazy), Steve led the rest of us (8 cars I think) and even in the rain and fog, it was both fun and scary. Really, it's alot more enjoyable to run it your first time(s) with others who've done it a few times. Nobody in our group would push you past your limits. I was pretty conservative and we were still able to stay together and w/radios, and keep it very safe (calling wet road, debris, crazy motorcycles, 5-oh, equipment checks/cool downs)

Sounds like a lot of fun!
So, how many people can make it this year for sure? I've got plenty of vacation time, so it's not an issue for me.

t0mills every year a boat load of people say they are going and bail the last 3 days or so before so if you want to go, just keep checking in here. I would also call fontana villiage and reservea room. Im sure w/o a doubt there will be some cars going from here, they have been for the last 3 years atleast.
My schedule changes monday and i go to working 4 10hour shifts tue-friday?
makes no sense, i doubt i will be on it when the dragon comes, but it would be nice if i was. If i decide to go

already commiting to branson zfest LOL i cant say enough how disappointed you'll be w/that show been there done that, it no where compare to the dragon.

Yeah, I have no problem going to both events. One is in March, the other is at the end of May.
Not sure where you are going with that...
I had imagined that the show in Branson wouldn't really compare to ZDayz, but it's something to do, that's pretty local to where I live.
I'll keep watching this thread to see what the game plan is for driving to Zdayz.

Nevermind... I see what you are saying now.
I was thinking that Zdayz was in March for some reason...
Of course I'd rather go to Zdayz. I've travelled out in that part of the country before, and the scenery was amazing!

I havent been to the Branson meet, but I havent heard much good about it... and I've heard quite a few different people talk about going. Even the worst planned events can be fun if youre around fun/good people.. I'll leave it at that, since I dont have any first hand knowledge myself.

I don't really get it either. I think longhorn44 was implying that I'm an idiot for not realizing that Zdayz was the same weekend as Zfest?
However, I caught that right after my post, and cleared things up.

yes both show branson and the dragon are the same weekend i believe. If i had a choice the dragon for sure. but if i couldnt make ends me,moneytight,etc.etc. i would go to branson. If you go to branson hook up w/the zcarsof nebraska all of them are way cool and make it a alright trip. tell them all i said hello Aslo dave and kathy. there are some differences...
Branson checklist:
full tank of gas?
wash the car?
got your toothbrush?
Dragon checklist:
tires? You shouldn't go with marginal tires. period.
alignment? Check it now or destroy your tires in one weekend.
brake pads and rotors well within spec?
brake fluid under 3-4 years old? You can boil it without even pushing.. only driving smart helps..
belts and hoses?
Any other mx you've been putting off should be addressed before going.
Tie up all loose ends at work, no cell coverage or broadband for 4 days. You will drive thru cell coverage a few times. But this is an issue for some.
Even tho youre staying in a decent room (like a few notches above what I'd guess a motel 6 looks like), pack like youre camping. Few stores for snacks/food without a long drive. Likewise, something to entertain/decompress after a long day of intense driving. For some that might be a dvd.. for others it might be booze.
