Fun Road Rally to the Lake Garnett Road Racing
50th Anniversary Reunion
Kansas Region SCCA Road Rally
Saturday, June 6, 2009
The Kansas Region of the Sports Car Club of America invites you to participate
in a fun road rally en route to the Lake Garnett Road Racing 50th Anniversary
Reunion celebration in Garnett, Kansas. This will be a social rally with scoring
determined by the most correct answers to a series of questions, whose answers
can be determined along the 2 hour / 80 mile, all paved route of rural roads
between Lawrence and Garnett. The rally masters for this event are Derrick
Carpenter and Rich Bireta.
The rally entrants should arrive in Garnett in time for lunch (not provided) and the
car show. After the car show awards (approximately 3:30) the rally entrants will
have the opportunity to participate in a ceremonial lap of the historic race course.
Any street-legal automobile capable of normal rural highway speeds can be
entered. Multiple rest stop opportunities are available during the rally.
When: Saturday, June 6, 2009. Registration 9:30 AM with first car out at
10:31 pm.
Where: Grant Township Community Center, 1853 E 1600 Rd, Lawrence,
Kansas (near the Lawrence Municipal Airport).
Entry Fee: $5.00 per car for SCCA members, or $10.00 per car if either
driver or navigator is not an SCCA member.
Minor Waiver: Entrants must be 18 years of age or else have SCCA Minor
Release, printed in color, signed and notarized by both parents. THERE
