For a quick route, hwy 248 is fun... I like the roads down in Arkansas more because there is little to no traffic most of the time.
Awesome! Thanks for the information!

About an hour south of Springfield. Definitely not our average temperatures for this time of year but our winter has been super mild so far this year. Took advantage of it though for sure, suppose to be back in the 40-50's in a couple days.

I am in Branson, MO.

Springfield has the bigger colleges (Missouri State being the biggest and Drury) there a few technical colleges around the surrounding areas though. (Ozark Technical College) And there is College of the Ozarks in Hollister, MO.

Housing is really good around the area, as I am sure it is a lot of places with the economy. You can find some really good deals. I'm sure the cost of living is ridiculously low compared to SoCal.

There seems to be alot of people coming this way from Cali recently, seems like half of the new people I meet are from there.

Well that's good. We will probably go for cheapish apartments, just to feel out the areas we like/dislike, then when we get a bit settled in, look into buying. My sister is supposed to be headed that way too, we are starting our "family mafia" back up since all the older relatives have either passed away, or don't plan family events anymore. She has 3 girls who are still in elementary, I trust the schools are good in the region?

I live in Springfield and would love to cruise around with some other Z's. There are plenty fun roads in scenery here. We don't have Cali weather, but the cost of living makes up for it I guess haha x

Hey No question. I think I mentioned back in December that the wife and I were moving to the Springfield area when we sold our house in Lake Saint Louis. Well......................we moved to Republic, MO three weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The neighborhood is really cool and the price of housing is really cheaper than the St Louis area. Here is a pic of our new house and my Z sleeping in the garage.

KornerCarver, I appreciate your information and suggestions... I'm looking more and more into Missouri State University as my college of choice. It looks like the City of Republic is about 30 minutes from MSU and has about 15k people, whereas Springfield has around 161k people.... I dont know if that is "big enough" for me... What kinda job market is out there?
