Default ZDayZ at Tail of the Dragon, May 20-22, 2005

2nd Annual ZDayZ at Tail of the Dragon

Friday, May 20 - Sunday, May 22, 2005

The 2005 event will again be hosted by Fontana Village Resort (www.fontanavillage.com)... just a short drive from Highway 129, the infamous Tail of the Dragon (318 turns in 11 miles!), located on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. For more information about the area and area roads, visit www.tailofthedragon.com.

As you may have heard, ZDayZ is a regional event designed to bring Z enthusiasts together for a weekend of driving, carousing, and just plain fun! Last May, the event attracted 80+ Z cars from 14 states! Activities included group dinners, seminars, drive-arounds, a group picture at Fontana Dam, and a People's Choice Car Show. This year's event will be even bigger and better!

For all the information on the event and discounted room rates ) at Fontana Village Resort, please visit the regularly updated website dedicated to this event:

Keep watching the website- it will be updated constantly with the forms, updates, etc.

The only costs last year were the car show entry fee, t-shirts, raffle tickets, rooms and meals.

Make your room reservations NOW!

From the website:

How do I book a room for the event?
Contact Fontana Village Resort reservations by calling 1-800-849-2258 ext.159 or by visiting their website. Be sure to tell them you are booking a room for ZDayZ at Tail of the Dragon to receive a 20% discount on your room!

The event is located remotely in the NC mountains and is only promoted to Z owners. So no, it's not going to be anything like the NOPI nationals

Our first year was 2004 and we had right at 80 Z cars show up. I refuse to speculate on this year's numbers, but we're already receiving as much "buzz" now as we were getting in early April of this past year, one month prior to the event.

Sounds cool. Are there any events that are going to be taking place? Also on average how much is the lodging usually run up there?

The rooms we reserved in THE LODGE are $49 per night with 2 beds. The cabins are higher. Call the 800# for details. Make sure you mention ZDAYZ!

Last year, in addition to the drive-arounds, seminars and car show, there was plenty of time to just hang out with other Z enthusiasts, drive around on your own and enjoy the area, and just have a great time! The two plus days flew by-we're trying to go up Thursday this time instead of Friday.

Things the ZDayZ staff and I are bouncing around...

- an actual organized cruise
- car show again... this time later in the day, followed by BBQ dinner.
- a yet to be announced evening "social" activity on Friday night that will include prize giveaways. If we can pull this one off it will be reeeeally fun! Super secret for the moment, tho.

Believe me, there will be plenty to do. There are so many nice cars and good people around, the weekend will be over before you know it.

It sounds like I'm going to be going to this event. Thanks for selling the ZDAYZ to me and making it seem to be very worth while. LATAZ
